I believe the new orders would have to go 30 days for this type of petition to work again.

It’s stupid to end the mask mandate. Most of the country has spikes in cases. Some states are running out of icu beds. Since the mask mandate the state has been decent, and life has been better. It’s not that big of a deal to have a damn mask on. Make it match your outfit so at least you can still look sharp even with the mask on.

Louisiana has had 2 spikes and there is no evidence you can get it twice. It’s almost a certainty you’ve been exposed to it and didn’t get it, had it and not known, or had it and been sick already.

Isn’t there a petition that can prohibit him from making new orders for more than 7 days? I thought initially there was one that prohibited him from making new orders for 30 days? Could they use the threat of that to force his hand?
ETA: just read that the petitioners can determine the length of the prohibition of new orders. So if he really pisses them off, the next petition could be for whatever time period they want.

Go look at the city of New Orleans social media. They are showing a graph that shows mask wearing and rates of infection. All well and good as it shows Orleans parish with shockingly low infection rates.
The problem is the data the graph relies on is from June and July. So they are using their public platform to continue to support their fallacy that everyone needs to mask up to stop this thing. No one is giving up their power until they get something in return.
