Wow. I'm very sorry to hear this. You definitely have prayers from me.

Something to consider, not sure where you are receiving care and I'm certainly not calling into question the knowledge and ability of your doctor, but with something so serious, it might be worth it to get a second opinion. I would think I'd want that just for peace of mind...as much as you can have in this situation.

Real talk. As a physician, I have seen this many times. Good news is, we can keep people alive for many years now with reduced EF. With meds, your EF will be back to normal in no time. Years ago, this was a death sentence. Now, basically another chronic diagnosis like diabetes we can manage appropriately for years. Good luck my friend and don’t lose any sleep over it. You will def be watching your kids walk for graduation.

Thank you so much for chiming in! I keep hearing this but what worries me is everyone telling me this was diagnosed in their 50s or 60s. I’m in my mid 30s so a 20-30 year lifespan after diagnosis is great for some but for me, that’s still concerning. My cardiologist prescribed Entresto for me to take. I’ve read that it’s one of the best for this condition - what’s your take on it?
