I can relate to what you're going through. At 41 I had a mild heart attack bc of a 80% blockage of my widow maker artery. I was able to have a stint put in, and put on meds.
Like you I was in great shape, not over weight, physically active, no high blood pressure, or any of the things that are precursors other then a family history of heart problems.
Dr basically said I just got dealt a bad hand of cards. I was mortified for a few months, and then decided I needed to continue living life, and not let my heart issues dictate the rest of my life. I follow my dr's guidelines, take my meds, and exercise often.
I have an 11yo, and 2yo daughters that are my entire world. I don't want them to have to deal with losing me early, but at the same time I refuse to not enjoy life with them.
It is a major mind frick when you find out you are no longer invincible, and the least little pain, heartburn, winded feeling, or hiccup has you thinking you are having the big one.
Make sure you have all your things in order in case the worse does happen, but live your life. Enjoy your family everyday, and let them know how much they mean to you. For myself I basically came to the frame of mind that when God is ready to call me up its out of my hands.
Don't get me wrong it scares the shite out of me, but I refuse to let it rule my life. You'll get through this. The initial scare is very sobering, but can be a blessing if you deal with it in the right manner. If you need to get some counseling, and find support groups.
All is not lost. This is just a Louisiana sized pot hole in the road of life.

I’ll say one for you; your family; and that your physicians develop a treatment plan that gets your heart as normal as possible as soon as possible. God Bless.

You've got this, man. Don't hesitate or feel bad about getting second or third opinions. Your doctor is right when he says you're young and in generally good health, giving you a leg up on the fight.

I'm looking into other cardiologists right now, actually. Got word from my health insurer that they will cover the cost of a second opinion so that's what I'm going to do. On one hand, I don't want to offend my doctor by making him feel like I doubt his expertise but on the other hand, we're not talking about a a broken bone here. This is my heart and I want to make sure I'm getting the right care.

It's your life, not theirs. If your dr does somehow get the Reds with you, then you need another dr to begin with.

Good luck, Baw. Also, do your own research. Some treatments respond better than others, and everybody is different.

Done. All the best in your treatment and ultimate improvement. Never feel bad leaning on others in times of real need.

I lost my parents when I was in High School. I feel it. I will be praying for you, but you have to pray, too. You seem to have the right mindset, young man. You must always keep positive. Don't let the negative energy, which you will feel, overcome you.
That's an order.
Peace, bro.

Yeah man!
My dad had his first heart attack at 33. They told him at 45 that he had 10 years to live. He was 75 when heart disease finally got him. Keep fighting bro.

That's rough, man.
Here's to you getting better and getting to watch your little ones grow up.
