That makes sense. The thing about Augusta is there really isn't a ton of trouble. Your short game just has to be great, and you can't miss in the wrong spots. Ben Crenshaw did shoot 85 last year, and he's terrible, but still. I don't think I could go that low. Hopefully I'm able to find out one day.

A mid handicap golfer isn't breaking 100 out there from the pro tees. Chipping and putting would eat people alive.

I'm like a 15 and I'd be thrilled with 120

In my prime I was a 4 handicap. I'm saying a 108. Average 2.5 shots tee to green (45), and average 3.5 putts (63)

Tom Watson barely made it to the 18th fairway today. He drives at least a legit 250, right? I feel like that would happen to me on so many holes. And I'd 3 or more putt every hole.
So probably in the 140-150 range. And I'm about a 15 handicap.

The better question is, how many would send someone to the hospital with all those people lined up on the tee box.
I don't shank them off the tee often, but knowing there are people there, I would certainly square someone up.

It would be tough to break 100 for sure. Those greens are a bitch. And a strong part of my game is putting. There is s reason they play this tournament on this course every year. And it shows how hard it is cause you have players that know the course and played it for years and haven't won.

I'd say 130 as a conservative estimate.

On the front nine maybe you shot 74.

What is part 72? I think I would shoot a nice 550.

It's not that ridiculous of a statement. Tee to green there are lots of courses more difficult than Augusta. The holes are fairly wide open with decent sized greens. where amateurs would get murdered out there is on the putting surface.

Tournament conditions - tips and down - with good weather - I would shoot between 102 and 114. If my fade is not under control, Inwould look at 125.
I am a good chipper and putter of the ball but would get eaten alive out there.

Legitimately, how tough would it be for an average guy to get on the course? I'm not talking about my lazy self who just talks about wanting to play there. If someone made it their dream, and would stop at nothing, would they have a shot of playing Augusta National before they died?
