Losing balls is not the issue.

Trying not to 9 putt each hole is the issue.

I'm an 11 handicap. I'd shoot 120+ in today's conditions.

Weakest part of my game is chipping. I'd be so so so so so so so fricked.

And I'd have a raging hard-on for the entire round.

Dang, for real? There isn't a member who is known to take anybody who wants to play or something like that? It's just, impossible? That sucks.

I'm an 8 handicap. After walking the course last year, I feel very confident that I wouldn't lose a single golf ball at Augusta National. would definitely break 100, but breaking 90 would be a stretch. I imagine somewhere in the 90-95 range.

I'm really kind of blown away that everyone in here is saying they would shoot 115-130. I've walked the course. It's a sprayers paradise. Of course the green complexes are hard and I don't have near the game to leave approaches in the right spot, but I would break 100. I also walked Whistling Straits last year. Much tougher course for the average golfer. Would probably shoot 100+ there.

If you are an 8 handicap, you are averaging around an 81-83 with occasional rounds in the high 80s. You honestly think you would only be about 1 shot worse per hole than on your local muni?

I hear you with the 130 and predictions like that. If I played strictly just to beat a number like that, I know I could do it. Like on 11...if I tried to birdie it, there's a chance I would make an epic score somewhere in double digits. But with so much room to the right up by the green, I could probably play VERY safe and avoid double digits 8/10 times.

90-95 though? HELL no. At least for me. I'm probably a 12 handicap.

I'm an 8 at a home course, far from a Webb Park, that is links style and rewards accuracy at over distance. Accuracy off the tee not always being my strong suit. I also shoot those same 80-86's at Flint Hills National, look it up. All these courses are much tougher tee to green than Augusta. What set's Augusta apart is 60 yards and in.

dudes were missing 2-3 foot putts today. actual pro golfers were shooting in the 80s today and yesterday.

I'm well aware, which is why I'm comfortable saying an 8 would never break 100 out there.

That's what's so scary. 8 footers would eat our damn lunch. On at least half the holes, we'd have at least 3-5 footers coming back. The greens would truly be a shite show.

For sure. One of Phil's putts today went right by the hole and ended up off the green. That would be a fairly regular occurrence for us amateurs.

what hole was it where mickelson missed a 3-footer, and then had a 10-footer coming back?

again, this is happening to the best of pro golfers.

how many times so far this week have you see a guy chip up or putt up a slope, and have it roll right back to where they hit it from? dozens. it happened to someone on 18 today when they were trying to make the cut.

seeing and walking the course last year, when it played maybe easier than it ever has, isn't exactly the best example to go by.

the course today would absolutely rape an 8 handicap
