I know my company is struggling. I'm not privy to the extent of it but I see a bunch of cost cutting at my job. A good friend of mine works for a large firm and they just cancelled all travel and laid off 25% of their employees. Another friend at salon that says that business has droffer off considerably. I haven't seen a packed restaurant since Valentines Day. I think people are cutting back.

Not to defend her, but HR is a behemoth that needs to go away. It's the most toxic part of the modern workforce. I've learned that you can't even trust them when they say they are investigating toxic work environments. Often times they are working to help management identify the people most likely to speak up and then get rid of them.

I have no sympathy for people like this. She showed why the majority of women are not ahead and will never get ahead in the corporate world. Putting shite like that out over Tic Tok is just going to hurt you in the long-term. Instead of being humbled, asking questions specific to the performance review, and trying to find out where she went wrong on how she can improve, she immediately got defensive and lashed out. She also can defend her work to a degree while acknowledging she fell short of company/team goals. She made this personal and then put it up for the world to see. People like her and those job hoppers during and post Covid are in for some rough times ahead.

Here is how a man in the same situation would solve “her problems”:
1. Take a sales job that is straight commission. No up front investment from the company hiring him.
2. Kick arse and sell product.
3. Mature and work on his deficiencies.
4. Go back out to the job market (with proof of concept) and get a salaried job after admitting you were an idiot when you were younger.
But she does not want those solutions.

Not saying she wasn’t done dirty, but these large corporations look at numbers, and hers were as low as they come (zero.) I’m not in sales but still have “numbers” i have to meet, and a lot of what it takes to meet them are not in my control, but my manager has honestly said upper management sees you as your numbers. What pissed me off about her firing video is that they wouldn’t just come out and say it. TBH, if i get fired for my numbers, it will probably go the same way. ETA these kids have been raised without anyone telling them the truth about how the world works. Participation trophies, online attention and sympathy, etc., then they get older and this is what you get.

This one was weird because while they called it for her numbers, it was actually a layoff and they used numbers for the metrics on who to let go. Under normal circumstances she'd have a bit more runway but they realized they had about 20% too many salespeople and didn't want to take the time to fire them the formal way.
