re: Sean Connery at 34 vs Thomas Brodie Sangster at 34… WTH is in the water these days?
Posted by Thundercles on 4/20/25 at 4:02 pm
Well, Sean Connery joined the Navy at age 16 and then had a few years of manual labor while he made a name for himself whereas the other guy has been an actor since he was a child.
re: Not fair to judge trio of LeBron/Bronny/Luka Magic first Playoff Series. #23 is Hurt.

If he's really playing through a groin injury that's incredible. The only time I really felt bad for Anthony Davis was when he had a groin strain a couple years ago just before an elimination game and still tried to get on the court to play. It's utterly impossible, and the second he had to make a fast move it was over.
So if Lebron has that lingering pain, that's rough.

This is like saying you can take down an average MMA fighter because you weigh 100 lbs more than they do.
Sure, but an MMA fighter is intelligent and can hurt me in several ways. The only way a wolf can meaningfully hurt you with with a bite. There is a massive difference in what kind of threat exists.

Soft. Full grown adult male grey wolf is 150 lbs tops. I can absolutely take it in a 1 v 1.

The trade was completely inexplicable had has been discussed ad nauseam, but it couldn’t have worked out worse every step of the way for Nico.
Again, this trade was never about basketball nor was it Nico's decision. It was a decision made by owners who know nothing about the teams nor do they care.

First would have been his bastard, Gendry
Second would have been Stannis, his brother
Third would have been Ned as Hand of the King
After that Tywin Lannister

This is a weird thread
Are you finally willing to admit Gayle Benson is only interested in money?
Posted by Thundercles on 4/16/25 at 8:51 pm
I have made this statement again and again over the years and have been routinely mocked, insulted, had threads whacked. It's been clear since the very beginning that Gayle is only interested profit maxing the team. That means keeping the team just good enough to not bottom out but never spending enough to be truly competitive.
Other teams in the league with interested owners have risen, fallen, and risen again while the Pelicans have been mired just below mediocrity for over a decade.
So having seen all you've seen now, are you still willing to say Gayle cares about the Pelicans and is invested in seeing them succeed?

Does England have a version of Back the Blue / ACAB? Their police seem more complicit than even US police.
Funny watching teams rise past the Pelicans repeatedly
Posted by Thundercles on 4/12/25 at 8:20 pm
So many teams have bottomed out and rebuilt to be playoff contenders while the Pelicans have remained in the gutter year after year.
At some point you accept this is a conscious choice and not repeated bad luck.

That stat should throw up alarm bells, because it is completely false and also totally unbelievable.
Why would you say it's false when it's from a peer reviewed and published paper that the government hosts on the NIH website?

I put this off after hearing about the disasters of Discovery and PIcard then picked it up on a whim and was instantly hooked. They do Star Trek well.

75% of SIDS deaths occur within 24 hours of a vaccine. If you don't see that stat and ask questions, you're a fool.
Edit: for all you retarded downvoters, the data is literally available on the government websites.
