Not sure about Georgia, but Louisiana and Florida would be no right of action. LA RS9:2800.10: No recovery for injury, death occurring during the commission of a felony.

Good idea. Unfortunately, w/ the present "system" all the plaintiffs need is a lawyer who's really to take the risk and spin the dial hoping for a sympathetic jury. I don't know the details of where the unit has been filed, but could you imagine if the jury pool was pulled from Fanni Willis' district??
