I get about 140 to 160 grams of protein per day. Again, is that not enough? Please enlighten me.
Doubtful. How much do you weigh?

How many grams of protein should the average 170 pound male eat per day? Are you honestly saying that 140 grams is low? I'm not a weight lifter and don't give a shite about gaining muscle. Most of my exercise is light cardio.
for health...you should lift weights and care about gaining as much muscle as possible before getting older.
as far as how much, 140g for your height and not lifting is fine.
but i have a hard time believing you are getting 140g
you get essentially zero at breakfast
you get 15 or so at lunch
so lets say you got a full 25g of protein by dinner
you would need to be eating 12+ oz of chicken breast every night
and thats fine if you do.
as far as only doing cardio and not lifting...dumb for about a billion reasons

I do. Again, not the point I’m wanting to discuss.

Exactly.

The new WHO European Regional Obesity Report 2022, published on 3 May by the WHO Regional Office for Europe, reveals that overweight and obesity rates have reached epidemic proportions across the Region and are still escalating, with none of the 53 Member States of the Region currently on track to meet the WHO Global Noncommunicable Disease (NCD) target of halting the rise of obesity by 2025.New data on obesity and overweight: The report, launched at a press event on 3 May and presented at the European Congress on Obesity, reveals that in the European Region, 59% of adults and almost 1 in 3 children (29% of boys and 27% of girls) are overweight or living with obesity.

Seed oils (originally used as engine lubricant), gmo’s, glyphosates, limited regenerative agriculture practices, pasteurized milk, gmo’s, hormones and antibiotics in mass produced cattle chickens and pork

Water supply for me at least is awesome. Memphis area has arguably the best water in the country, something most don’t know and would never expect

Sao tell me how i am wrong on this topic?
i acknowledge the OP, acknowledge your concerns, what i am saying is the market is the way it is because that is what the consumer wants
there are alternatives as I mentioned
and that we have much bigger problems to worry about like the average american consuming 3540 calories per day while only getting 20 min of activity per day.
wouldnt you agree those are bigger problems?
na...i have quite a bit going on here and have stuff with the kids this afternoon. nice try though

Some of this stuff is just granola, hippy wishlist IMO.
They'd have us return to the Stone Age, as they think Iron and Bronze are toxic.

yea im sure thats the issue with Americans and their health....not the whole "I consume 3540 calories and got 20 min of physical activity" issue.
I'm sure its those seed oils and the mass produced meat.
talk about not being able to see the forest through the trees.

I do but my overall point is that the problems such as obesity also have ties in some areas to the topic as a whole. Don’t think specifically of gluten, I am griping about every aspect of the food industry. Processing and preservatives of every sort are included in my gripes.
The high sugar content garbage food is worse in the US than elsewhere as well. As for how to get people more active I don’t have the answer, but our food industry is atrocious.

It's not expensive at all to eat good. You just need to understand what is good and what is not. Nuts, seeds, whole grains, greens, fruit are all cheap

Just my personal opinion, but the creation of the consumer Microwave led to normalization of cheap, shitty processed food on demand that created the issue.

I wish I had time to go to the gym every day, but I simply don't. I've built up a decent amount of muscle mass but I'm sure I'll get back to doing some light weightlifting some day. It's just not a priority for me. I get that it obviously is for you...
The whole point of my post is that the I constantly hear people talking about how "expensive" it is to eat healthy, but that is simply not the case.
It can be done with $10-$15 a day and you will get the amount of protein, carbs, etc. that the AVERAGE American needs to stay healthy.

Eh, that depends to be honest.
I'm about 85% running/15% lifting and am doing fine. I just control the quantity of food I eat.
