The thing that is just KILLIN me is health insurance. I’m paying $3,000+ a month for health insurance for my family with a fricking $12,000 a year deductible. This shite is criminal!!!!!!

I pay $150/month for my kids. My company pays mine and my wife is on her own but still no where close to what you are paying. That's highway robbery. I would just go without
quote:

This legit, or exaggerating a little?

He's exxagerating when you can literally go get it for just over $6/LB or go to Costco and get it for $5/LB
quote:

All this on top of a 45 hour work week.

Are you bragging about working nights and weekends ?
quote:

I jsut went to Kesslers, a cheap fricking south Dakota grocery store

We spent $280 on groceries to feed 5 people for 4 days. It was the perfect amount.

$280

5 people

Lasted 4 fricking days

Post the reciept. Lets see what you bought
quote:

Yeah, in shitty apartments. I make $110k and I live in a 600 square foot apartment built in 1980. Currently trying to save up $100k for a 20% down payment

Well no shite, you live in one of the top 15 largest cities in the US. Did you think it would be cheap?
quote:

I don’t really give a shite what you say. You’re childless at 55 years old so you’re thought process isn’t rooted in the reality of the super majority of people and you’re too stupid to understand that.

I wouldn't really rip into anyone else on here when you have 36k post in 9 years. That's fricking incredible. On top of that lameness, you think you are somebody cool which bolsters the delusion in your mind. How the frick would you know how to do anything other than be on here 24/7 ?
quote:

$1500 per month is on the low end of normal for a house payment

Are you smoking meth again??
quote:

where do you live? $1,500 per kid is easily the norm for full time daycare. Some exceed $2,000.

I know which is absurd. I pay half that for the best one in my area
quote:

We moved further East in Dallas out of our 3-2, 1800 sqft home to a house that is 1000sqft bigger, bought for the same price as we sold and our mortgage is almost double at 6.75%.

We’re not “hurting” but with daycare coming at $1500/month, it’s not sunshine and roses with what my wife and I make combined. 10-15 years ago, at our salary, we’d be building significant wealth. There’s basically no reality where she could consider not working.

Sounds like you live in an area you can barely afford. $1500/month for daycare is absolutely ridiculous.
quote:

I mean I can do the Jambalaya budget too if you'd like.
.

I can too. This is from walmart

2lbs chicken - $7.96
PK of sausage - $6.82
2lbs of rice- $1.80
32 oz chic stock - $1.50
Misc veggies/seasoning- $2.00

Total before tax : $20.08
quote:

Your point is verifiably false, even factoring in eating as cheaply as possible

I don't think you know what this means
quote:

Ground beef in bulk is like $4 a pound. You got caught in some bullshite and there’s no coming back from it my guy

Which is cheap. What other food is $4 for 75+ grams of protein?
My point still stands

quote:

4 gallons of Great Value 2% milk are consumed in my house each week = $17.18 added to the budget.

Just with that we're at 20% of his $150/wk budget. Now we're down to $1.14 per serving per meal.

Pull your britches up bud, explain to your children that they need to make some sacrifices for the family and wait until dinner time to eat. If not go get a 2nd job big guy
quote:

You even said ground meat and chicken are cheap as hell, when's the last time you set foot in a grocery store?

You can buy those items in bulk and get them for cheap if you are really struggling with money
quote:

Do it. Put together a grocery list that isn't beans and rice for a family of 5 for 2 full weeks, 300 dollars.

Everyone wants to point the finger in these threads but is far from realistic. So feed a family of 5 for 300 for 2 weeks. Then do it repeatedly.

I don't need to because i already do it. I have a family of 5. I guess the next question is where do you buy your groceries? $300 at Walmart gets you plenty
quote:

I never said that was my situation.

Sure sounded like it but i guess you were asking for a friend
quote:

Create me a grocery list that will feed my family for 2 weeks for 300 dollars.

Chicken, rice, noodles, sauces, eggs, ground meat, bread,Canned food, Ramen etc are all cheap as hell. It's not hard. You just don't want to do the work to figure it out

Hell i could make a potato soup, chili, gumbo, jambalaya etc that would last 3 days or more for $20 each
quote:

n the case of credit card debt, how exactly are they just supposed to up and pay off the debt when there's only enough to make minimum payments?

So you are living beyond your means  . You just proved his point
quote:

roceries for my family of 5 are usually about 300-400 a week, we cook at home, meal prep lunches for the week, don't eat garbage (no soft drinks and sweets).

I have a family of 5 as well. You don't need to spend that much per week. That could last you 2 weeks.
quote:

Where is this $600 monthly quality daycare?

I pay $800 for a good one in Ascension. I'd argue it's likely better than most in BR as well
