Christ, I do. I cook every day. All my cooking is done from scratch. You’re making this argument with the wrong person, and that is not the point I’m making at all. I’m wanting to start a discussion of what are root causes, and what steps can be taken to get the ball rolling towards accountability. No one ever saying anything is why we continue to get fricked.

American food is processed and full of preservatives. Every time I go to Europe I fell better, have more energy and lose weight. It's amazing what eating fresh, non-processed foods will do for you. It's also amazing that when you walk around a city in Europe 70% of the population isn't obese and/or using walkers and scooters. You'll see some old people with canes but that's about it. They walk or ride bikes all of their lives and they're healthier for it.

Are we under the allusion that total saturation with glyphosate has no effect on the finished grain?
Wheat (the specific grain the op was talking about) is not sprayed with glyphosate nor is it GMO.

I’ve also done carnivore diets recently and agree with you about the feel of it. Can we trust our meat here from the basic grocery store? I get being diligent to not buy the processed shite, but I simply can’t afford to spend more on meat than I already do. Prices are absurd.
a) get a better job then
b) dont have to do carnivore and yea you can trust your meat from the store. learn to read labels and hit your macros.
C) combine the meat with a simple source of carbs like potatoes, white rice, sweet potatoes and then add fresh veggies.
shite isnt difficult. making a mountain out of a mole hill.
and its less about profit and more about keeping prices down. food prices in Europe are higher. people cook more of their own meals too and grow gardens, make their own bread, make their own pasta etc.
but that all comes at a cost. they pay way more. you can get the same ingredients here. but you arent going to be able to go to Wal Mart and grab pasta and sauce and expect it to be the same as a Italian grandma would make where she started from scratch
you are just bitching to bitch now

Roundup is used to harvest our grains to dry them out faster. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. The people who do this are the ones spouting environmentalism and want to dictate whether you can own a gas powered mower to cut the lawn which makes it even more infuriating.

I don’t understand why you are being hostile. The only reason I brought any of this up is because I saw a clear and recent contrast to this system on a broad scale.
What do you do for a living?

That is also how I understood it with wheat, but a previous poster said it isn’t used. So what is correct?

He's very narcissistic re: fitness. Great on some things and shite on others (like this topic).

The problem is you have to make a conscious effort to eat clean and it’s not easy and it’s expensive. Our entire food system is built around quick processed foods.
I disagree that it has to be difficult or expensive. I'll give you an example of a typical workday meal for me:
Breakfast: Whole grain oatmeal (not instant) cooked on a stove with two tablespoons of natural peanut butter (peanuts only, no other ingredients except salt).
Lunch: I eat a Sans meal bar Sans
These have very few ingredients and are all whole food ingredients with minimal processing. An organic apple or banana as well.
Dinner: Some sort of grilled protein (chicken breast, etc.) grilled in olive oil. Any fresh vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, etc. I usually have a small avocado as well.
My whole day cost about $10-$12 which is about the same as one single fast food combos.

Grain is grain. It is grain in the US. It is grain in Europe.
This is not true. There are vastly different strains, GMO, Roundup-Ready, etc. Different chemicals, different processing systems, different preservatives (if any) etc.
Very naive comment.

I just don’t understand why the system as a whole gets a pass because alternatives are available (though often ridiculously expensive or scarce in some situations) when it’s obvious that not the entire world operates like this. Why shill for the system?

You barely eat protein. Sounds like your overall diet is kind of shitty, but I’m glad it’s cheap for you.

I'm in your camp. I'm a skeptic all the way down to Yellow No. 5 and M&Ms (just to dumb down as an example). I think we've consumed our way to health issues at large for a long long time.

Is roundup used to dry out wheat crops to initiate harvest?
