You don't think they use that stuff in Europe?
Europe isn't some food paradise, they're behind us in weight issues, but they're certainly getting worse and worse

You barely eat protein. Sounds like your overall diet is kind of shitty, but I’m glad it’s cheap for you.
Apparently you can't read. I eat a protein bar for lunch with about 15 grams of protein. I usually eat about 2 chicken breasts for dinner (or some similar protein) which is 108 grams of protein. I'll also snack on almonds which has good protein as well. Also protein in the peanut butter on my oatmeal. I get about 140 grams of protein in my example. Are you saying that is not enough?

Christ, I do. I cook every day. All my cooking is done from scratch. You’re making this argument with the wrong person, and that is not the point I’m making at all. I’m wanting to start a discussion of what are root causes, and what steps can be taken to get the ball rolling towards accountability. No one ever saying anything is why we continue to get fricked.
how about we worry about getting obesity rates down before we start worrying about things that are only a very very small problem?
im not saying you arent right, but most people are not going to cook everyday, they are not going to make their own bread, grow a garden etc....so they are going to choose based on price and convenience.
if you want to completely rid yourself of these things, grow a garden, hunt your own food, by beef/chicken direct from the farm, make your own bread, pasta, etc...

It is a mystery to me how you are not realizing that this ties into my entire point with this thread topic.

I don’t understand why you are being hostile. The only reason I brought any of this up is because I saw a clear and recent contrast to this system on a broad scale.
What do you do for a living?
i wasnt being hostile. im saying...we have the same food system if you want to eat only whole foods.
most people dont.
on a broad scale we should prolly worry about obesity first before worrying about little things
and im an engineer

being into fitness doesnt make you a narcissistic, it means you actually care enough to take care of yourself. To be there for your kids etc.

American food supply relating to allergies
Since June 2023, I have been on a carnivore diet only. I am back to the same weight that I was in high school, never really hungry like I was previously. My intention was to do this for 30 days, but now will do it forever. I've never felt better and have a ton of energy.

Apparently you can’t write. You didn’t say how many chicken breast that you eat, but yes, I’m saying that your aggregate protein is low.

Nah man, at the gym, we all stare at ourselves in the mirror while flexing and commenting on how beautiful we all are.

I disagree that it has to be difficult or expensive. I'll give you an example of a typical workday meal for me:
Breakfast: Whole grain oatmeal (not instant) cooked on a stove with two tablespoons of natural peanut butter (peanuts only, no other ingredients except salt).
Lunch: I eat a Sans meal bar Sans
These have very few ingredients and are all whole food ingredients with minimal processing. An organic apple or banana as well.
Dinner: Some sort of grilled protein (chicken breast, etc.) grilled in olive oil. Any fresh vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, etc. I usually have a small avocado as well.
My whole day cost about $10-$12 which is about the same as one single fast food combos.
your diet is crap. you are lucky if you are getting 75g protein. laughably bad.

you didnt say 2 chicken breast. i was figuring 1 8oz or so portion
you get really no protein for breakfast
you get 15g for lunch with that bar
and peanut butter is a crap source of protein
you get almost all of your protein in 1 meal. highly doubt you are getting anywhere close to 140g.

roundup used to dry out wheat crops to initiate harvest?
Not in North Alabama. Sounds like it would be slow. Paraquat would be better.
I’m sure it is used on a very small scale in specific weather related scenarios but putting glyphosate on wheat is not a common practice. I farm thousands of acres of wheat and do not personally know a single person who has put roundup over the top of wheat.

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein is a modest 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, or 0.36 grams per pound.
Harvard Article
I weigh 170 so for me that's about 61 grams. I am more than doubling that and on a typical workday I sit at a desk all day and don't burn many calories. I try to fit in a quick 30 minute workout if possible but it doesn't always happen.
How many grams of protein should the average 170 pound male eat per day? Are you honestly saying that 140 grams is low? I'm not a weight lifter and don't give a shite about gaining muscle. Most of my exercise is light cardio.

Grain is grain. It is grain in the US. It is grain in Europe.
Majority of the US grows hard red wheat with higher proteins, thus more gluten, Europe grows soft wheat, less protein, less gluten.
American farmers also use Glyphosate on wheat to kill bacteria and dry it out quicker.
It is thought glyphosate kills good bacteria in your gut that helps breakdown and digest food.

its not a mystery.
you are missing the whole point
if you want to avoid those things(which i think are a good thing to avoid, and i agree with Sao that even things like coloring arent great) then you can
what i am saying is 99% of the country doesnt want that. what they want is convivence first and foremost. then they want things to be cheaper. so the market adjust to what the majority of consumers want.
most in the US dont even get 100g of protein and average calorie consumption is 3540 cals and the average american gets 20 min or less of physical activity in a day
my point is....lets worry about those things first before we go off majoring in the minors.

I'm sure they do in some areas. That's irrelevant. You said "grain is grain" which is obviously false.
