In 6-10 to year old sports the moms are way worse than the dads

every one makes fun of travel sports but man this is why im so glad to not being rec sports anymore. Its always like this in those. crazy arse moms that dont want to be in travel but want the local rec league to be like travel....frick that man....take your arse somewheres else

its either that or the parents who think its nothing but a baby sitting service for an hour and never even teach their kids anything then get mad when they arent as good as the other kids who work at home

It’s crazy she would do this with a bunch of 1st and 2nd graders. Sounds like the situation resolved itself.

I would recommend following up on the group text now apologizing for the distraction and reminding everyone that at this age it’s all about having fun and teaching basic skills.

Oh the parents started going at her until she basically told everyone to frick off by telling the parents to find a REAL sport.

Good riddance. Probably says "My momma heart" and things of that nature.

Let me preface this by saying I’m coaching 6/7 year olds (1st/2nd graders) co-ed in soccer.

Making them say the pledge of allegiance to the rainbow flag wasn’t enough?

I coached t-ball for a few years. I know this woman.

Well the easy way to feel better about the situation is to remind yourself that somewhere some poor guy is married to that mentally unstable wildebeest.

When you interact with these crazy people like you’re in a comedy instead of a drama it’s all much easier to handle.

I had a kid's dad criticizing how I lined his kid up to bat in t-ball. I just told him to get out there and do it himself next time.

two years ago in little league...now understand this is 11-12 and her kid was 12...i got yelled at because he couldnt catch and i hadnt taught him.

thing was i was doing my best but 1-2 practices a week for 3 weeks isnt enough to teach a kid that has never done anything how to catch and throw and hit.

i was just an a-hole who only cared about my kid and his friends.

of course...fat single mom with tattoos and no father in the picture at all. kid has no shot and life is going to eat him alive. sweet kid though.

It amazes me how serious people take youth leagues. Especially at the young ages of 6/7/8/9.

My kid is in soccer now, and the amount of sideline coaching and harassment the kids get while playing. And Youngsville/Broussard has it's shite together in regards to how they handle this stuff. But there are plenty of parents who under mind the coach at every opportunity.

It's sad.

The point of sports at the age is to get the kids some exercise and socialization with new friends a couple times a week. Barcelona isn't sending scouts to your local park.

6 and 7 is way too old to be playing co-ed.

I coached youth sports for over 15 years while my kids were coming up. Whether it was football or basketball I would have a little meeting with the parents and let them know I'd answer any questions they had. I always wore two whistles around my neck and said I'd listen and address any criticism they had, as long as they took one of my whistles and got out there and coached. It worked pretty good for 15 years.
For several of those years I was also the president of our little dribblers association.. Don't get me started on how many parents I had to escort out the gym, mostly MOMS.
