Much thicker metal. it weighs probably twice as much. Downside is, its not as portable. But if you are just looking for backyard, its the better option. If you look at Solo Stove, they specifically say it needs the cover if kept outside

Any large rim like this make for great fire pits. And like he did, surrounding it with bricks will give it a good look

Check out Tractor Supply before buying at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

I bought a $100 one from Lowes last year...it is rusting out so I will probably buy another one to replace it. I think the Solo Stove Yukon is intriguing, but I know it goes through a lot of wood so load up, and you don't see the fire like you do a traditional fire pit...I like the aesthetic of seeing more of the fire and the burning coals...just my opinion.

Spend the money and get a propane firepit...I had a regular one of the longest, and while loving crackling wood is great, your fricked if there is any kind of wind. Plus the ability to be able to kick on a knob and an enjoy a fire for just 10 minutes with coffee or one drink is amazing

I had a welder buddy build one for me. Cost $500 total.

It’s heavy duty and should last a lifetime.

Heavy stainless or self weathering steel construction. No cover needed.

I did buy the optional stainless lid for mine which I recommend for outdoor storage.

I got mine from S&S Fire Pits. They're a little pricey, but I'm happy with mine.

Same here. Love mine. Chose it over solo stove cause it’s better looking and designed for cooking. Love it.

Edit; Talking about the Breeo

Nice design as far as spreading out the heat. Taking off the lid to put in wood would get old though. Maybe cut the expanded metal (msu logo) off the top for easier access.

2nd the vote for S & S, I have had the 37” hemisphere for 4 or 5 years and it is still in perfect condition. If I bought again I would possibly switch to the elliptical version with lower sides.

Solo Stove is not good at radiating heat around it. It’s extremely good pushing heat straight up and keeping lots of heat inside of it. It’s a great fire pit for cooking things on. If you want a fire pit to keep people warm sitting around it, then just build your own out of concrete blocks or stone. I tried out the Yukon and returned it for this reason.

Having a wood deck, I just resort to those gas patio heaters.
