I worked for a friends dad and uncle during the summer when I was in HS. They operated a dairy and we did the grunt work around the dairy (everything but connecting the automilkers). Had some great times sneaking into the cow holding area at night with a long, green-limb club (usually privet hedge) and flip on the lights and run around slamming rats. Some of the biggest damn rats on earth and they were there by what seemed like hundreds.

i could watch that for hours, there's another guy who does the same with pigeons which is funny because they hop and fall down after getting hit.

That looks like a hell of a good time, but if he didn't collect the bodies, that's going to smell horrible.

Reminds me of something I posted years ago...
I knew someone who did something like this, over a decade ago (wasn't a farm, shooting pests around squirrel feed in their backyard in BR)
Motion sensor lights on back porch. IR lightbulbs, so it "lights up", but doesn't make it visibly bright.
Air rifle, with a scope. Old Sony camcorder set to "IR" settings, attached to scope with some hose clamps and mounted securely. This was surprisingly good ergonomics, much better than using a phone or DSLR. Camcorder is set up for that type of eye box.
Rifle set up in the den, looking out an open window, on a tripod.
Even had the camera line out connected to a TV, so people could watch.
Basically, the IR floodlights make it bright as day through the camera. Not being visibly bright, the varmints show no fear, as they're programmed to think they are safe in the dark.
The motion sensor aspect lets you know when a "target" is there, that way you don't sit there randomly waiting. He left corn or something like it as bait, to draw them out.
Air rifle is quiet enough that it doesn't spook the critters. One with an integral air tank, so you don't have to pump back up (or recock the piston).
You get good accuracy with a decent air rifle out to about 100 yds; this was well within that range. Maybe 20-25 yds.
I watched one night, it was fun to see, and very well thought out. Not as high volume as this video, but definitely got action, 2-3 in about a 10 minute period.

That was fun to watch. Like someone commented, it's good to see dogs being happy to be dogs. Only problem is they get distracted so easily, they drop the live rat to chase another one.

If I had to guess, the shooter is using an FX Impact MK III PCP .22 cal. air rifle which utilizes a Fortner style action like the Anschutz Olympic biathlon rifles. I've got an FX Impact Mk II .30 cal. that shoots 44.8 gr pellets at 900-925 fps for 35 shots. . Compact, very little noise since your shooting compressed air, and accurate for headshots out to 100 yds. Pics of what they look like
