This guy was treated like absolute shite after he died. School kids were making TikTok memes about him, because his suicide video went viral on TikTok and was inserted into algorithms which was seen by mostly kids.
Hey, but storm chasing is a "Dangerous Act" and can't be streamed on that platform.

Please define.
Soviet troops were shot if they stepped back from the front line in Stalingrad.

Can't convince me it's PTSD when WW2 generation came home and is known as our greatest generation. There's more to it than that.

They did, or drank themselves to death. You didn’t talk about then.

That's pretty reasonable. There were a significant number of suicides for men that were rated 4F (not draftable) because they couldn't enlist. Similar shame based phenomenon happened in WWI in Britain amongst those that couldn't/didn't volunteer for that train wreck.
WWI probably had a higher rate of people returned to society that couldn't effectively function, though. Misery.

Society shits on veterans.
People stop joining.
Draft or other form of coercion is used to feed the war machine.
Readiness and effectiveness in the toilet.
Sounds like a Lib’s wet dream.

Speaking for myself as a vet with PTSD
I am telling you the VA makes things as difficult as possible in hopes that 50% will either give up or kill ourselves…
Folks love to post memes and videos about supporting troops but often when given the opportunity to actually help, it’s crickets.
Lastly, I was too proud to ask for help before it got too bad…. In one way or another troops are taught survival skills. Obviously some way more than others but the seed is there.
Then you ask vets to trust an organization and frankly a government that has given no reason to trust them.
It’s a recipe for disaster that I have seen too often take it’s toll on my brothers and sisters..
Troops should not have to jump through all these confusing, frustrating hoops for many for years.. It literally sucks the life out of many

For some of these Vets with severe PTSD and/or multiple deployments, what the military should mandate is a 1-2 year reintegration program where they still live in monitored conditions
Absolutely the frick not. Been through “decompression” several times. Total bullshite and would even argue it did more harm than good.

I mean the liberal media was more worried about our soldiers following rules of engagement and treating murderous terrorists with dignity over the lives of our servicemen.

My dad was a Vietnam vet and committed suicide in 2010. He was in therapy/support group at the VA in BR for 5 years or so before he took his life. I do not have the best of opinions of the va. The therapist (Dr)and the support group knew what he was thinking of doing and didn’t say anything until after. It’s a horrible act that can destroy families. We were unfortunate enough to be in the house when he did it and it haunts me to this day. More of something that I think about. I’ll never forget it and what it does to the ones left behind.

First off the VA is s a joke unless you are in certain demographics you will get no help from the administration at the VA, also if you are still in uniform mental health concerns will end your career and get you shunned

Why weren’t ww2 shock troops commit suicide at such a high rate?

Don’t make the mistake I made of looking up the uncensored video. It’s pretty nasty

Our priorities, especially those of our inefficient and ineffective government are wrong. If they can’t attach a rainbow flag or social component to it, they see no value in it.
People say and do cruel things with no fear or accountability. Civility and decency are in short supply whether it is online or in our neighborhoods and schools. Consideration, compassion and understanding are rarely practiced.
Whether left or right, compassion and empathy have no real cost other than a little of your time.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn't exclusive to veterans. It's definitely a commentary on the callousness that has developed in society post-introduction of social media because so many people can make these criticisms anonymously and without repercussion. Let's be honest, look at some of the shite that's posted on this very website.
This. Some of the jokes and what people say here is disgusting. I have a very, very fricked up set of humor in real life and wouldn't crack a lot of the jokes that get dropped here. Human beings are desensitized.

Do you think veterans from WW2 didn’t commit suicide, or keep it suppressed the best they could with alcohol and drugs?
