People will not be happy until everyone who wants a test gets a test.
then they will need another test tomorrow, and again the following day, then .....
people would need to keep taking the test until they test positive for it to have any effect.
that or be tested and shown antibodies indicating they had it already.

As medical professionals more of us need to be willing to tell them to get fricked bc they should be happy we don’t think they need tested.
I can wish in one hand and .....
you know the rest.
We started tough but are eventually going to cave. The stories of "I went to 4 different places before they finally tested me and I had it" have already started.

I fear if we lift the ban too quickly, that a second waive of infection will occur, but hopefully not.
A second wave of infection will almost certainly occur if the social distancing measures are lifted anytime in the next several months, which is a fundamental flaw with the whole strategy.

why is our nation on the brink of depression?
More testing would reveal how many people actually have it and would allow those people to know for certain that they should stay away from those who are most susceptible. There are a legion of asymptomatic carriers 50-75% most who would never be tested. If we could identify those it would go a long way in snuffing this out faster.

Hospital system thats very skittish about conversations like these on a platform like this.
I'm being super careful of my comments on social media and here. One of my former coworkers invited me to join that COVID-19 healthcare professionals fb group. I'm looking at the posts...but DEF not commenting. A lot of nurses posting comments they really shouldn't.

Large metropolis with a lot of cases? Sounds like a lot of cities shutting everything down for no reason.

What city? Because it’s an absolute shite storm in the ERs in south Louisiana

Thank you for pointing out that the test (all these idiot hysteria pushers on here) that everyone won’t STFU about is USELESS!!! IF YOURE SICK STAY HOME, IF YOU NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION GO TO THE DOC. THATS IT, why is our nation on the brink of depression?
Think about this little exercise for a minute.
Situation A - we have no idea who is a carrier for COVID-19. The only solution to avoid spreading the virus is complete lockdown for everyone or a free for all that puts us in a northern Italy situation.
Situation B - we know 95% of the carriers for COVID-19 because we can test anyone with a fever. Public officials are more likely to allow free movement of people if we are reasonably sure we have a large percentage of cases under quarantine.
Stop being ignorant on why testing is important.

That tells you who had it the day of the test. What about the next day, like the original guy said? It doesn't work.

But testing is key, right?

WHO THE frick CARES ABOUT A VIRUS THATS 75% asymptomatic! Like good god, check yourself before seeing grandma, fricking ay if grandma is sick you’d kill her with the fricking common cold. I don’t understand this, this will go down as one of the biggest blunders in US history and has knocked us down to pegs lower than many nations across the world. China/Russia see It’s clear as day how fragile our nation is and we can be had.

Testing also provides data which can be analyzed to evaluate response and treatment outcomes so that we can make decisions based upon knowledge, not the latest “feelings” and “beliefs” influenced by propagandists.
