I agree it’s not new, but that was still a relatively small percentage of the population. Now ER’s are getting slammed

I think the word is out to the idiots that use the ER or ED as their pcp that they will probably get turned away or their wait will take place outside in the heat instead of the air conditioned confines of the ER.
I am basing this solely on my experience with the Ochsner ER on Jefferson Hwy (main campus). Had to take a relative to the ER this weekend. The physician said bring them to the Emergency Room and he called the ER to let them know we would be arriving shortly so we could fly right in.
Their admit/triage was moved to the entrance where the doors automatically open. They took my temperature and masked me up so I could proceed to the ER. They also had security there to make sure things remain calm. Not sure if it was Ochsner security or Jeff Parish sheriff, but I do remember he was carrying.
There were several people outside of the admit/triage area waiting to be called in. My take is unless you arrive in an ambulance or are instructed by the doc to go & he/she green lights you in, you are gonna have to wait and it isn't going to be pleasant. You can't go get some snacks at the vending machine and the restroom is off limits. I don't remember seeing a porter potty outside.

Here are some interesting stats from Floriduh:
Tested: 12,865
Positive: 1,227
Negative: 11,637
Inconclusive:1
Evidently hypochondriacs are using up the available tests here

quote:Would be much easier to return to normalish if we could have vast access to tests that gave quick results. Widespread lock down would be unnecessary.
People will not be happy until everyone who wants a test gets a test.

It pains me to disagree even slightly with someone with such excellent musical taste...

If they are anything like the cartridge Flu swab tests, they have a definite false negative problem.
