re: One weakness that could sink each national title contender this year - CivilTiger83
Clemson loses 46% of it's tackles from last year and 71% of it's sacks.
I am not worried about replacing sacks - we are probably more athletic overall vs last year. The only thing that remains to be seen with our DEs will be how they hold up against the run on early downs. At D...

re: One weakness that could sink each national title contender this year - CivilTiger83
Clemson won't miss a beat at DE once the young DEs get some snaps. DT is the one area where I think there will be dropoff from last year, and I expect to see it impact our game against A&M. I think that alone will keep the A&M game close. ...

re: Inside intel on Tua Tagovailoa from opponents speaking candidly about Alabama QB - CivilTiger83
I usually ignore stupid comments but this is one of the stupidest ever. Clemson had a month to plan for their first Playoff game, and probably had the game plan ready in about 10 days, and tweaked it as they saw any injury reports.. The rest of the time they looked at the other two possible o...

re: Tiny Ben explains why Jews dont vote Republican - CivilTiger83
The origins of modern conservative thought which was espoused by the US founders goes back to the 1600s and is fundamentally rooted in Judeo-Christian philosophy.
I would be interested to see how others disagree with this. The roots of conservative principles that the founding fath...

re: Tiny Ben explains why Jews dont vote Republican - CivilTiger83
Lolz. Of course he would come to that overly simplistic conclusion. Zealots gonna zealot. If religion is the main reason why you vote conservativily, you are likely to be less of a consistently conservative thinker and more closer to someone who tries to push his spiritual views on the re...

re: How much do you know about Islam? Do you know the teachings and beliefs - CivilTiger83
Religion of peace is more properly interpreted as a religion of submission. Muhammad basically heard a bastardized version of Christianity and interpreted it to be polytheistic. It’s why there is a focus on the oneness of Allah. Initially he coexisted with Jews and Christians before changing tact...

re: What's the cause in Asian-Americans voting overwhelmingly Dem now? - CivilTiger83
It still makes me laugh almost 3 years later that evangelicals overwhelmingly voted for an unabashed atheist. Really, the first one who doesn't even feel the need to pretend about it. I guess he's tried to pretend a few times, but I think even he realized he's so bad at it, best t...

re: Discussion: What do we really know about Auburn’s 2019 offense - CivilTiger83
You have no clue what you're talking about. You said two of the strongest units on the offense (T and WR) are weak spots. The WR unit has been banged up so far in camp, but wev got some solid depth there. And the interior of the line was the weak area of the OL but showed a lot of improvement...

re: How concerned are Bama fans - CivilTiger83
Disagree.Truth is this: In terms of starting 22 nobody is as good as Alabama. In terms of overall numbers of great athletes Georgia is the best. LSU is among them and again probably has more raw talent than Clemson.
Bama’s 2 deep on offense and defense is probably tops as far as ov...

re: Discussion: What do we really know about Auburn’s 2019 offense - CivilTiger83
Its a mystery. There is talk about the OL being good because they return a bunch of guys, but those guys didn't seem all that good to begin with - especially at tackle. Everyone is assuming that QB play will be as good or better despite replacing arguably their best passer since Cam. He had his ...

re: UK QB suffers knee injury - CivilTiger83
I had my doubts that he would ever play anyway. Sucks for the kid but with multiple leg injures, I wouldnt be surprised if he gives up football.
Why would he give up football? ACL recoveries are textbook these days, even with multiple ACL tears to the same knee. I tore my ACL o...
Because there is no such thing as an ACC Rant. Clemson fans want to pound their chest and talk trash but nobody in the ACC cares enough to respond. I don't know WTF Oklahoma fans are on here.
And we appreciate your constant threads and attention. I rarely start threads here, and...

re: Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy: We would have beaten LSU in 2011; 'We were too good' - CivilTiger83
Disagree or not, that is what I love about the 4 team playoff... sometimes those 3rd or 4th seeds are the best team in the country. The year Ohio State won it was fun to watch a team prove everyone wrong. The first year Clemson made it was the same deal - most people thought we didn’t belong....

re: Hearing a lot of good things about overall composite #1 Jordan Burch.... - CivilTiger83
Agreed DawgsLife. I am sure we are selling how we put guys in the league. I went back and looked and since at least 2007 (12 years) Clemson’s starting DEs (both of them) have either been drafted or made it on an NFL teams roster. Curious outside of Bama how many teams can say that. Hopefully t...

re: Hearing a lot of good things about overall composite #1 Jordan Burch.... - CivilTiger83
Clemson leads
I don't know that we do. I think from a depth chart perspective we have some things working against us. We will have 5-6 guys ahead of him on the depth chart that will be difficult to pass. Outside of WR, its our most loaded position right now. USC has done a pret...

Mond was all over the place last year. Clemson game he was dropping dimes into tight windows all game. At his best he is a very good QB. Some games he looked below average. I expect a more consistent Mond this year....
