The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo a public health emergency of international concern. The agency said the outbreak in DR Congo's eastern Ituri province, which has seen around 246 suspected cases and 80 deaths reported, does not meet the criteria of a pandemic emergency. But it warned it could potentially be "a much larger outbreak" than what is currently being detected and reported, with significant risk of local and regional spread.

The most important thing to make sure of is, have they gotten their Covid vaccines?

I was living in Douala during the last outbreak. Interesting times.

The good thing is that Ebola, in its current form, won't become a global pandemic and should stay mostly localized.
For it to spread you have to come into pretty direct contact with the bodily fluids of someone already infected. Also, Ebola's burn rate is pretty fast; once you get it you get sick fast, and it quickly knocks you down and kills you. You aren't going to be walking around for a couple of weeks with mild symptoms.

Hantavirus, E. Coli….
They are trying really hard to find an excuse for another lockdown before election time.

Is Fauci advising on how best to handle this to make sure it gets totally screwed up and out of hand?

Aside from the Ebola, what was life in the Congo like on a regular day?

Douala is in Cameroon but not terribly far from DRC. Cameroon wasn’t as bad as other places I’ve been. Traffic is mental and the rules are that there are no rules, most aggressive driver usually wins. Lots of rubbish all around, poor air quality, terrible traffic, cars held together with baling wire, and motorcycle taxis. Usually played golf or went to the beach on the weekends. Really good fresh fruit (especially mangos), and fresh seafood.

It’s fine… Since they invented everything, they will have a cure for this in no time
