Define staying involved. He may make 6-8 appearances during the season if it doesn’t interfere with his NBC schedule and attempt at a life after football and that 6-8 may still be a lot.

Always entertaining when Louisianians “look down” on Californians.

Like Archie Manning?
Archie and Olivia weren’t splitting time between two cities and traveling back and forth on a pj with them. Nola is a big city when you’re both coming from the Mississippi delta. They’ve been here for 50 years and their family/friends were all within 5-6 hour drive.

About 15 years ago I read that since his retirement 20 years before Terry Bradshaw had been to Pittsburgh five times.
Alex Karras never returned to The University of Iowa after leaving. Not even once. I don't know how many times he went back to Detroit but I doubt it was very often.

Exactly. The only reason he got a condo at Four Seasons was because it’s an investment and is prob safer to stay at for when he’s contractually obligated to be here. The kids aren’t summering in the city.

as someone from NOLA, I'll say that there is a real dislike between LA and CA...Drew is from Texas, but I don't know where Brittany is from. If she's from CA I totally get her viewpoint and understand why she's miserable in NOLA.

She’s from Indiana and if I had to guess as a young woman from the Midwest never felt like she fit in with the the city’s insular social scene not to mention the general civic dysfunction. But she’s still a perfectly nice person.

Why in the world would he stay in New Orleans. House in San Diego and a house in Austin on Lake Travis or something.

in a way that makes sense to me, I think Mid-westerners have some trouble getting NOLA

I’m not sure Kafka was agreeing with you bro. I think his point was it’s the norm for star players to move on after their playing days. Do you think Jordan still lives full time in Chicago? Do you think Gretzky lives in Edmonton? The OPs intent was some gotcha direct at NO residents. Brees will stay involved through the Gleason foundation and other philanthropic endeavors. Plenty of players like Fujita, Jabari Greer, Pierre Thomas, deuce McAllister, Garrett Hartley etc stay involved here from afar. The fact that he doesn’t live here full time isn’t some damning indictment. Not to mention he chose to live right off the street car line for the last decade where anyone could come walk up to his front yard.

Yeah why in the world would we not want to pay 500K for a 400hsf apartment? Who wouldn't want to pay massive taxes to be bombarded with homeless everywhere we go?
We're the dumb ones obviously...
As far as Brees, I could see him moving back home to Austin before San Diego. Cost of living and no state income tax to worry about in Texas instead of Cali stealing all of his broadcasting money.
Posted on 3/17/21 at 8:36 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
They moved early on during the plandemic and have not returned full time.
With that said, I don’t blame him. Hell, Brandon Ingram didn’t even want to live in that shite hole. He purchased on the Northshore and has to commute to work.

I love NOLA but if I had Drew money I’d be in San Diego too. It’s not even close.
