Solid choice for a Swiss made daily driver. I'd put Doxa in the same category as Mido, Oris and Certina. Personally, I'm a fan of the Certina DS Action Diver 38mm Titanium (Reference: C048.807.44.081.00). I was considering this Oris Divers Date but the Certina has so much bang for the buck.

The silver one looks good and I've got skinny arms so it'd fit. The band in the op looks cheap.

I have a $29 dollar watch from Walmart that looks just as good and works great.
So do I, and it’s literally next to a Rolex where I keep my watches.

I'm not a huge fan of the rice bead bracelet but there are tons of options.
I don't generally dig rice bead bracelets either, but for some reason I actually kinda like how they try to incorporate that look into that rubber strap.

Cool for sure but give Grandpas nice watch to your son once he is old enough to appreciate it

stop fricking with cheap Swiss automatics.

I like them for the history and the look. I agree that if you get one, it must be orange and must have the unique bezel.
Ive toyed with buying one before but never did. A $1000 watch that isnt dead nuts accurate is something I have no interest in. A $2k one? Fuggetaboutit. Its such a bastard price point. You can spend about $500 on a quartz diver or seiko diver that looks and functions wonderfully, or spend $4k and up and get an auto diver that looks and functions wonderfully. $600 to $3000 seems to get you another SW200 hunk that looks unique and keeps shite time and might break if you drop it.
IMHO I think almost that entire price bracket is aimed at people who want a "nice" Swiss auto watch but not a really nice one. I had a marathon MSAR for 10 years and I thought I loved it but now that I understand the market better, I hate myself for spending that much on something that kept shite time.

If you like it, that’s all that matters.
You can’t take it with you.
I’m not a watch guy.

Yes, I do have a Walmart $29 special watch...it looks and works great. I can afford to buy several high end watchs...but I don't have an emotional need to impress anyone like you do.

Remember - you are not bringing any of this stuff with you when you meet your maker. Just leaves behind more junk for the “heirs” to clean up.

You should be doing them a favor and cleaning up the junk long before you are close to death. I started cleaning out my attic by brining down after least five boxes a year when I get the Christmas stuff down each year. After four years, I am about 2/3 of the way to cleaning out useless junk. I am a little worried about having to tackle the garage!
Watches and guns are far from junk IMO and children often love receiving them. They carry special meaning when owned by a parent or grandparent.
OP, Doxa is respected in the watch community. If it were me, I would save a little more and get a Tudor. There is so much value in that brand. But that’s just me. Good luck on the watch journey, it becomes a sickness really quickly for many of us!

You posted the $29 Walmart flex followed by “I could buy several high end watches but I don’t need to impress anyone”… dude you wrote a post flexing being cheap then tried to pass it off as moral superiority….thats not enlightenment thats just broke cosplay with extra steps.

Giving up $1000 for a watch is crazy. I have a $29 dollar watch from Walmart that looks just as good and works great. If I lose it or drop it no problem. I buy new one with no sweat.
You've really done it now.
The gay watch aficionados will be in to justify spending a ridiculous amount of money for something to tell the time.
The only people who give a shite about your watch is other watch morons

Haven't used a watch since I started carrying a phone with a clock in my pocket.

I bet they are elderly and well cared for. I also bet you have a fat stack put away for retirement.

For anyone curious Doxa actually tested and found out that orange was the best visibility for normal diving depth, less than say 90 feet or so they made their watches orange
