This one sucks. Dolly was one who you just thought would never die.

Sad day.

I guess we will now see the young pop country stars now all try to grow their platforms but coming out covering her songs on Instagram and TikTok and saying how big of an influence she was to them.

My favorite song of hers. Remember that song being played every Christmas season while everyone was decorating the house.

She was a staple of my childhood.

My parents listed to her music.

I grew up watching Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and 9 to 5

RIP Dolly

I didn’t know her impact until I moved to the area 26 years ago. She’s absolutely adored and rightfully so. She seemed like a caricature to me growing up, but she’s the real deal. Flags will be at half mast here for sure. Now she can be with her lifelong love. RIP Dolly, you left one heck of a mark on this world.

There are no words that can describe her impact in East Tennessee.

She truly was the best of us, RIP Queen

I predict that this is going to end up being a way bigger deal than some people realize, partly because Dolly Parton was so relevant in the American mainstream at one time and partly because Dolly was one of the greatest living Americans.

Her story is the real deal rags to riches story - bare feet, eating squirrel, getting water out of the creek, all of that. And then her foundation has also mailed out several hundred million childrens books to promote literacy. Really is an amazing program.

RIP Dolly.

She was a wonderful person who did so much good for the world.

Sucks.

East TN, where I live, is going to be devastated by this news. She recently declined a statue in Nashville and said maybe after she's gone. I hope they do it now.

Example of a good person reaching the American dream.

Truly one of a kind. Exceptional talent, kind philanthropist, and possessor of an astounding rack.
