Quick theory but I think the polite woman that talked to Patricia at the first party is some kind of demon or whatever
1. “Just moved here”
2. “I only know 1 person”
3. Immediately gets Patricia to talk about the night that triggers her
4. Is absolutely gone after Patricia goes to the bathroom
All of which sets her down the path of throwing the party. It wouldn’t be the first time that a target was communicating with a fake person. There is even a moment where Patricia gets bumped and has wine spilled on her which seems to break the trance.
Yikes ep. 4 was unsettling
