Not at all. Had checks stolen out of the Blue box a year or so ago and they couldn't/wouldn't do anything. Had someone mail me a "package" aka 10 pages (letter size) last Thursday from 100 miles away and I still have not received the "package". USPS is crap.

Free market tells you al you need to know. The private carriers get things there faster and more reliably which is why they have grown significantly in my lifetime. I’d love to see a P&L of the USPS. Your taxes are paying for lot of sloths to have a job paying well beyond their abilities and effort.

I will say my worst experiences have been with UPS where they legit ripped the package apart and stole it as soon as it was delivered and I come home to find an empty box. I’ve had probably 6-7 things stolen through the years from UPS and delivered to strange locations that I had to tell them don’t even delivering to my house anymore. I will drive out to their creepy arse store to pick it up.
USPS I don’t have much delivered but generally has been fine. I did notice one time that they were delivering my nerdy arse archeology magazine to the wrong house and I had to be like “I doubt that magazine your putting in that mailbox is for sarah.” I also got a jury duty summoning after the jury duty date
FedEx I don’t have much of an opinion on.
Amazon, those frickers through packages around. Hasn’t happened to my packages yet but I see them all the time tossing packages out of their trucks

70809. A few weeks ago, I had a package mailed from Maurepas, La. to Baton Rouge. A trip of less than hour by car. It came to Baton Rouge within two days. For some reason it then left BR and traveled to St. Louis, then to Chicago, then Olive Branch, Mississippi, and finally back to Baton Rouge where it sat for the holiday weekend before finally being delivered well over a week after initial shipment.
Now that’s not really the amazing part. The best part is that this happens about every third time I order something from this business in Maurepas. Once after arriving in and then leaving the destination city (BR), a package stopped in Fargo, North Dakota during its US tour.
I was told by a postal agent that this is called “looping”. It’s so common it has a term to describe it.
I have had to submit “where’s my stuff” inquires to USPS three times in the last year over items from various companies that just disappeared in the USPS system. Twice they were found. One time USPS issued a check to the vendor for the lost package. Seller then shipped a replacement item to me. The missing item then showed up after I already received the replacement (over a month later.) Vendor just said to keep both.

Shipped/received 400 or more packages via priority FRB or ground advantage. Never lost a package. Had a few routed incorrectly but all eventually delivered. USPS is pretty great service in my experiences.

USPS and FedEx split ways at the end of 2023 and UPS took it over and they really didn't have the infrastructure to handle it. There's a lot of moving parts with that, but one thing is clear is the delivery process has been significantly impacted.

USPS makes up excuses when they just don’t feel like delivering packages. Last week, they claimed a package was undeliverable due to animal presence. We were home all day, have no animal. They just made up an excuse. Did finally deliver it though a day or so later.

USPS is actually ok around here-central Mississippi. Very few issues. FedEx is the problem around here. If I see FedEx is the carrier, I know it’s a roll of the dice the package will ever show up.

Fed Ex vs USPS is about the worst example of a private company working better for the populace I can think of.
USPS isn't perfect but it's a godsend for everyone from small business owners due to their pricing to older folks living on rural routes.

Packages tend to work out although they rarely come through USPS now in Houston. Majority of my packages are Amazon direct and occasionally a UPS or FedEx. USPS loses my letter mail all the time. I get the daily digest to see what I'm supposed to get and personal letter mysteriously never show up constantly.
