Married for over 30 years and we sleep separately. My sleep is all kinds of jacked up and hers isn't. There's no reason for her to have to be woken up several times a night with my insanity. She's much happier if she gets her sleep which makes my life easier. Every couple is different though

Ive been doing it a few nights a week since my wife is pregnant. She has thig big arse pregnancy pillow I'm the bed plus she's been lucid dreaming and talking/beating the shite out of me in her sleep. She will get cold and snuggle up to me. Once she warms up she will start rabbit kicking me. A few weeks ago she almost caught a haymaker when I woke up to something grabbing me by the face, thankfully I realized it was her.

She's a very nice lady when awake and cant hit hard enough to actually hurt me but I'm a light sleeper. I asked her wtf she was dreaming about after one of her violent episodes a while back and she said that the teletubbies. Not sure why a teletubbie dream would make her elbow me in the throat.

I do it with my wife because I have to get up at 4am to get into my radio station to do my morning show. She sleeps fours hours more, makes the kids breakfast, and goes to her doctor job.

Kids have their own bedroom but they could bunk up if needed,.

It sounds like hell but it is what I thin most late middle aged couples go through.

Not sure of the issue. This is no longer the era of everyone waking to a 7am alarm clock,.

I don't do it daily but once a week or so I do just to get a better night's sleep. Or I'll fall asleep on the couch or something and go to bed when I wake up in the middle of the night. I like to have it pitch dark and quiet and she has to have the TV on and I can't fall asleep for #$@#$ in there.

Like others have said, I can see why it would seem odd but if a couple has drastically different sleeping habits, I get it.

A lot of my friends apparently snore so their wives have tossed them

This is the most common reason.

Other reason would if one of them works an irregular shift.

I sleep in a separate room every night. My wife is a menace while sleeping. If we were both in bed both of us would not be able to sleep

I snore and she is constantly getting up to go to bathroom and moving around

I start off on same bed but usually end up in the guest room about half the week.

Two reasons. Can't seem to stop five year old from coming into our bed and either her or my wife will kick me out for snoring if I fall asleep first.

I've gained like 10lbs and snoring has gotten much worse. Gotta drop back down and see if it gets better

I get up at 2am and go to bed at 6. He comes to bed at 11 and wakes me up. The dogs wake up when I do.

Separate bedrooms are starting to sound pretty good.

Our main issue would be dividing up the dogs.

A common theme in all of the spouse murder videos I've seen on Youtube.

If I’m not feeling well or slept like shite the night before, I’ll sleep in a guest room. Sleeping alone is amazing.

Drop the kids off at school get a white monster and a 6 pack of tallboys. Log in to my job at the Nick Fuentes/Alex Jones style internet show while my wife pays the bills

Sounds like a dream

As a shift worker for 46 years, the answer is yes. My wife now sleeps with the TV on. I'm still in my own bed after retirement.

It’s one of the great joys of being an empty nester. Sleeping in separate rooms doesn’t mean there’s no sex, it just means that both can sleep with less interruptions from the other.
this

We can't seem to keep the little furry assholes from waking us both up at 6 am though

We split up into separate bedrooms a few years ago, even with a CPAP machine, her snoring was over my pain threshold. I'd rather be in the same bedroom, but she has to get her 8 hours, I rarely sleep more than 5.

That would be a deal breaker for me. I can’t sleep right if I don’t have a handful of boob.

Later in life our trailing kid got to sleep in our bed more often than not. So, I’d sleep in another bedroom for quality sleep. Not a biggie. Wife knew to cross foyer for hanky-panky. Worked for us.

When you get old? Early 40s and I have to get up 1 or 2 times a night.
