Using synthetic oil is better for most cars these days as it provides better/longer protection. Doing it yourself will safe you at least 50% of the cost. And if you own multiple cars the costs add up.

I can totally get the relaxation part, but is it really that much cheaper? I can get my oil changed for 25 bucks. The oil and filters alone cost at least $20

Well they picked up my truck this morning, changed the oil, and its back in my parking lot now so it can't get much easier

Changing a tire is situational IMO. No way in hell am i getting out of my truck in the the interstate cinstruction zones that make up my commute unless it's on fire.
I also keep a plug kit and compressor in my truck. Way easier/quicker than actually changing the tire.

Oil yes... Tires just rotate only, anything else just bring it in.

I had to rip a screw out of a tire last week. Took the opportunity to rotate them all since I had everything out

no. i absolutely could if i wanted to, but it's not even close to being worth my time. the savings and extra masculinity dont justify the time and inconvenience of it

Yes, do my own oil and fuel filters, but mainly because I'm a cheap bastard and I don't trust some of the people these places employee. I paid a shop to change the oil in my F250 once and I believe it was around $120, I do it myself for about $55. Same goes for fuel filters, I change them every 10,000 miles(every other oil change) and the oil/oil filter/fuel filters runs me about $120 total.

Back a couple decades ago I was changing my oil at the 5 minute oil change place just like I continue to do today, along with 99.8% of all the males out there. The only exception are the ones who actually work there and change their own oil.

Not sure of your vehicle, but mine takes 6 quarts. I went to 5 minute oil about 2 yrs ago and the charged me $86 or some insanely high price. I change my filter ever other oil change....so oil - $35 & oil filter $4 (because they run ~$8 and every other oil change).

I do everything except balance and alignment. I know it is done as it should be and no corners were cut. If you think the oil change place doesn't cut corners, then you are sadly mistaken.

Tires yes, oil no.
Dad owns a tire business, so that's no problem, but local oil change spot does a regular oil change for like $40. Cost me at least $20 for the oil and filter, and then I have to dispose of the oil. NO thanks.
