I had a couple uncles that started with McCormick seasoning salt then switched to Tony's when it was invented.
Still have some older guys I know that do it. Another guy pours beer over ice, shakes the salt into the beer.

I've seen both salt and tonys on the lids of old Cajun men's beers.

In Colorado we had a bartender putting shots of tomato juice in our beers. Wasn't bad so we took it up a notch and started having him put Bloody Mary mix instead.
Think the tomato thing is pretty common there in a wheat beer maybe

Don't see the point. Isn't it all gone after one sip?

I've never seen this. Gross.

I'll do it occasionally. Picked it up from my grandfather. I remember him sitting in his shop drinking the Miller Ponys and doing that. His arthritis in his hands got so bad he could hardly grab a bottle any more before his health deteriorated

Pops does it all the time if he's got a salt shaker within reach.
He used to pour peanuts into his RC cola too.

No but my dad kept his in the tool box so in the summer they would be 100 degrees.

I've seen people put salt all over a bottle of corona.
Yeah, the only people I see do it are old Mexican men who drink their piss beer with tons of salt and lime.

My dad wasn't a pussy. He would come home from work every night with a 6 pack, crack one open right away, did whatever he had going on and by the time he was halfway done with the 6th one he would stop what he was doing, finish it off and go to bed.

Salt in the beer is weird to me...we did do peanuts in the coke bottle, back when bottles were still around

I've definitely seen my Dad sprinkle a little salt in his beer

Now that I haven't tried. Just never felt right doing it in anything other than a glass coke bottle

Yes, on the rare occasion that my dad had a beer, he did that.
I've done it a time or two myself when drinking horse piss beer.

That's the same drink this dude from Puerto Rico was drinking at this party we went to yesterday. I forget what he called it. He was drinking it over ice. He's a teacher and his wife is a pediatrician fwiw
