Is there anything that could steer this back East or is it current location on more west? Most of the Spaghetti models have it current location or further west.

In Baton Rouge, we've had 12 years to fortify since Gustav. Most people have generators, window AC units, and a good plan. All the gas stations and many of the stores also have generators. We don't want it to come, but we are as prepared as we can be.

Center of cone shifted from just east of Morgan City near Amelia to just east of Frankiin near Centerville.

THat is about 25 miles westward.

@JkpWeather
Recon just passed through the eye again (it's a NOAA plane so they don't necessarily always follow the standard pattern), and they found category 4 flight-level winds. An SFMR approached 115 knots, but it may be contaminated by rain, despite not being flagged for it. Extrapolated

Jackson is plenty. Jackson even had power after Katrina. Now, just south of Jackson didn't, but the city did.

I have family in Brandon. They had a tree on their house and their neighborhood had no power for 4 days.

MS baws - evacuating up I-55 towards Jackson, would you stop there or just keep going all the way to Memphis? Have granny and two dogs in tow. I realize it's track dependent on where to go / stop.
If I'm in a hotel, Jackson is far enough inland for me.

I know it's a little too early but do you guys think somewhere near Shreveport would be a good option right now?

Yeah. Other than being Shreveport, there shouldn’t be much in the way of hurricane effects there.

I’ll be leaving for Ruston after it passes and it looks like we won’t have power for a while.

You gonna request egg rolls from Village Station when Handy Mart is in close proximity?

WTF is wrong with you

Ok, well compared the 5 weeks I was without power, Jackson was unscathed.

In Oct always bet on it going east of where predicted
Land interaction on Yucatán/the ridge eroding faster/ the trough being stronger could make it go east
