I do use my fan.

It's in the air handler just upstream of the evaporator coil, hippie.

Don’t have ac in my house. Just open the windows at night and get it down to 55-60, then shut them in the morning and repeat. Not living in hell during the summer is worth getting to ski the winters.

According to ConsumerReports.org, there are certain temperatures you can keep your unit at to keep costs down.

Energy Star, a joint federal program run by the DOE and the EPA, recommends you keep your house at 78° F while you're at home and awake.

ConsumerReports.org recommends you keep your AC on the following settings:

78° F when you’re home
85° F when you’re at work or away
82° F when you’re sleeping
thats their goal.......

now talk to health specialists that can prove it is better for your health to keep it at 68.

I could possibly do those temperatures if there humidity was low. In order to do that, my unit would need to run to get the humidity down, then add reheat to get the temp they say. Well that would completely destroy any efficiency.

Poo poo on that dumb cost analysis. These people clearly all live in San Diego or San Francisco.

Screw that. We keep ours at 65 at night. How much are you actually going to save with an average sized house?

My BIL is a tightwad. He runs the AC in his car for a few minutes then cuts it off to improve his gas mileage.

If you are not below 75 then all your AC is doing is moving air around and not removing moisture at the same time over working itself. This is some green peace save the planet global warming funded ReeRee BS.

One of the pluses of traveling for work and being in hotels. I set that son of a bitch in the low 60s and sleep like a baby.

Colin cowherd is the goat for saying he sleeps like you’re on the deck of a fishing boat during a nor’easter off the coast of Maine

78 is what I set mine to when I'm away at work for the month. Not a shot at the gun range that my ac will ever be set above 80.

If I have to set my air to 82 at night in order to save the world, then we are all doomed.

Jesus son. Does your Ac run 24/7? Your bill must be astronomical

For last month is was $176. I don't have a problem with that considering Mondays and Tuesdays are the only days when either my wife or I aren't at home during the day.

I set mine at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the same temperature that Will Wade sets his and his team’s ACs at, the official temperature of the Tigers. Good enough for me.
