This would be considered an emergency in my house

I'd file a fricking insurance claim

At some future point The Government will mandate, compel and enforce that we keep our home temps at that level.

But we are not there yet.

I don't know why but I prefer it to be warm while I'm sleeping. I don't get why people like to put it 72 and below.

They apparently do not live in the Deep South.

My AC stays on 70 during the day, 68 when I get home, 66 when I sleep.

Jesus son. Does your Ac run 24/7? Your bill must be astronomical

Ours pretty much runs all day. My wife usually forgets to turn it up when she leaves so it's mostly on 72 all day. I guess I should get a Nest.

I don't get into all the changing temps thing. 74 on both thermostats at all times. We've made it so certain parts of the house get more air circulation (master bedroom, office), so they get pretty chilly at that temp.

We'll turn it to 78 if we're leaving for a while.

We save the world via home air temp control in winter.

If it's 82, I'm not sleeping, I'm lying awake in a pool of sweat. 67 for me.

We have 2 of them. Gamechanger. My electricity bill dropped $100 since we added the second one downstairs. At first we only had upstairs, my wife wouldn’t turn the downstairs up or down so I added another one and it’s changed our lives.

Energy Star, a joint federal program run by the DOE and the EPA, recommends you keep your house at 78° F while you're at home and awake.

Yet DOE offices are kept around 72 degrees in the Summer.
