I commented without watching the video. Just watched it and he sounds like a brother so I’m guessing his wife is a hog.
His situation doesn’t sound all that bad other than his wife being pregnant. He doesn’t have any debt other than a mortgage he’s pretty far into that probably has a low interest rate. Guy just needs to stay where he is and deal with it.

What did the 37 year old see in a broke, unemployed unhealthy 64 year old
Probably acting like a high roller when he bagged her. Suprisingly common….

If the average American followed, Dave’s plan, they’d be in good shape.
It doesn’t take some genius and master plan to know that if you aren’t working, in poor health and in debt, then it’s dealt dumb to get someone pregnant if you’re 60.

I know a dude that had his first at like 62. To each their own, but that almost seems a little cruel to the kid.

He is 64, when he said he was having something with muscles, my first thought was... ALS. Obviously he didn't say enough so it could be a lot of things, but that would be a whole different set of problems.

I just assume that all calls to his show are fake.
Dave Ramsey is not my cup of tea.

A woman that my wife once worked with started screwing her boss at her new job and she was 36 and he was 63. He was about to retire and she got pregnant. The guy left his wife of 30 years and his 2 daughters who were in thier 30s at the time wanted nothing to do with him. He ended up getting her pregnant again at 68. The guy is now 72 has a 9 year old a 4 year old. His ex wife gets a portion of his pension and he has to provide for his 2 kids and the mom. He works part time for a rental car company driving cars for service, repair, and other destinations for additional income. Being that age with 2 children and a woman in her mid 40s is probably not ideal situation.

I’m in my forties, recently married, and know that if I had a kid I’d be almost 70 when the kid became an adult.

Theo Vonn’s dad was born in 1912.

It is like a phrase book for financial literacy. It works for people unable or unwilling to master even the most basic tenets of personal finance. I can't call it bad advice but it is hard to view it as good advice either.

His plan is great for folks who strugle with consumer debt.
Where his plan falls short is avoiding debt even when used to allow sound investing*. His focus on the smallest debt rather than the highest interest rate is a bit backwards too. It seems more based on psychology than on logic/math.
* ETA - Dave went belly up with debt that funded RE investments that went south, so I do kinda understand his debt-phobia.

This plan is absolutely perfect for average Americans.
The problem is none of them want to do any sacrificing so the plan is null and void
