I love that you are bitching about someone not at work while you're on td.

I would be pretty useless if my dog died, especially if it was unexpected.

Don't joke about someone with epilepsy and his bond with his dog that stayed by his side not freaking out and getting help.

Unless you've walked to work because you couldn't drive get off my lawn. Word travels fast these days with Glassdoor and social media.

A) No, not a bullshite reason at all.

B) Your boss (or his boss, whomever) should give him tomorrow as well.

C) It's his time off to use as he wants anyway.

People who aren’t someone’s superior really should butt out of what their coworkers do.

One of our dogs is slowly dying of a liver mass.

My boss already knows (she is a huge dog person as well) and knows when the day comes to put him down...I will not be coming to work that day.

If I have the PTO to use and my work still gets done, who cares what I use it for?

Posts like the OP’s are a good example of why I don’t generally trust people that don’t like dogs.

If he has time off to use, he can do what he pleases.

FWIW- it’s funny when people pass judgement on others for how they use their time off. I have people I’ve worked with constantly take days off for a sick kid, then get mad if someone else takes time to take a pet to the vet or something. It’s as if not having kids means someone should get less time off

In this time? Owning and loving dogs has gone on for quite some time.

Who are you to judge someone’s priorities of the employee is not violating any code or protocol?

Not sure where you work but every place I've worked PTO is used for whatever reason you want, so no not bullshite at all.

I just feel sorry for people who don't have a four legged family member. If you lose your dog, take off whatever time you need to take. People come to work to actually do work; not to grieve.

If your boss doesn't understand that, find a new boss or save up a little money, fail, and figure out how to feed, clothe, and house yourself until you can show someone the compassion that you didn't get from the boss that set you free.

There's a couple old fricks in my office like this. We have general pto we can take for whatever reason. Every so often I'll make up some shite and tell them I scheduled a random Wednesday off just because. They get pretty triggered lol

Yeah, we love our family including dogs now. They are with us for a short time so personal time is in order. Unless of course you just throw them in the back yard, forget about them and let them get heart worms.
