Give the man some time to drink and bury the dead dog. You really think he would have been a big help at the office?

I'm probably going to need a solid 3 weeks whenever my dog dies.

Losing a pet is extremely tough, like losing a member of the family. So no I don't blame him at all.

Eh...i wouldnt want to work at a place or for a person who doesnt know the true pain of having to make the choice to put to sleep your dog

That shite is hard and I support whoever wants to take the day off after that

If he woke up and found his dead dog he should at least get off until after lunch. If it died the day before then you have to go to work.

When did the dog die?

If it was overnight, you can just leave it lying around.

Odd wording. I thought you meant someone was making fun of him because his dog died

You earned this downvote a-hole.

If trolling, downvote still applies.

Nah I give them a pass. I don't own pets but I know how attached people are to them, and it does rip them apart emotionally, especially if they have to make a decision about putting their pet down.

You're posting on a message board so neither one of you are doing work. At least he had the decency to use PTO.

What if he is single with no kids, and his dog is a big part of his life? Or what if he’s married with three kids, and knows the kids are going to have a really hard time understanding their best friend all of a sudden disappearing? Or what if he rescued/adopted this dog 15 years ago, and it’s been with him through ups, downs, relationships, jobs, etc- You dont think that’s a valid reason to mourn for a while?

I guess i understand how maybe you’re not a dog person, but i cant I understand how you dont seem to have a little compassion or empathy for someone who’s obviously going through a hard time.
