Tons of people would love to work from home again or get a free $600 a week check from the govt.

Because Trump was President and it was an election year.

If Barack Hussein Obama was President the media would have treated it like the 2009 Swine Flu and it would have been business as usual.

The Karens on FB begging Honor Chode to keep the lockdowns in place even during the second lockdown.

Stop thinking about your rights and think about what's right.

Especially for something with a 99.99% chance of surviving you were remotely healthy

It also turned people lazy to an entitled level with WFH bullshite.

No. It made us realize many of us could accomplish just as much, or more, by working from a home office. Fast forward to today and I now commute to an office in order to remote work because...reasons. It makes zero sense as my team is nationwide and I am not forward facing. Freaking dumb.

ETA - I was in a remote work position prior to COVID, so already working from home. But now policy has changed that and I'm required to come into the office to remote work. Dumb. Frankly, I resent this place more everyday and am considering my options.

A scam we bought hook, line and sinker. But didn’t fall for the “vaccine.”

The worst part was having to show a vaccine card to get into Tiger Stadium

Yep, and the same people who tell you that you don't need an ID to vote, would report you to the authorities if you didn't have your Covid papers.

The same people who supported millions of illegals coming into this country at this time.....without vaccinations or papers.

The same people who said it was OK to protest for BLM told you that you couldn't visit a dying relative.

These same people then call you a "fascist" if you didn't obey their fascist orders.

Cool thing about TD is there are people here from all over the country. Share your COVID experience.

South Dakota was a Free State
Wear a mask, social distancing, yeah we had that stuff here. But for the most part life went on. I remember going to the bar in June. So things got back to normal after the "two weeks" pretty quickly.

The whole thing was so arbitrary and performative. Put a mask on to enter a resturant but take it off at your table. You could order food at a table but not a bar...then at a bar but you had to order food. They just made it up as they went and some people followed it as gospel

You can only eat outside, and then they proceeded to make the outside into the inside by putting up walls, roofs, and windows

The whole face covering nonsense was the most ridiculous part to me.

I was all nonsense driven by social media...something that never existed in a large scale with the countless other pandemics society had had for decades prior to 2020.

That's not to say Covid itself was "fake". It wasn't. But the gross overreaction of shutting down society and permanently altering the way society functions in ways we still haven't fully comprehended was a byproduct of the world being more connected (via social media) than at any point in human history. The "we're all in this together" mantra became the mainstream way of thinking and ANYONE who dared express any hint of skepticism, criticism, questioning of that mindset was immediately ridiculed for daring to question the established mindset.

IMO, it showed just how connected we are as a society worldwide and the dangers of how that could lead to an isolated groupthink narrative taking hold to permanently change society. It also revealed just how little many in the world want to engage in any critical thinking process (even if it results in a different conclusion than mine) and would just prefer to be told what to think. In that respect, the whole episode was maybe a world-wide "TLDR" reply.

or wait my favorite...we wanted to go to the outdoor garden section of home depot, but you couldnt just walk in the gate that's normally open...instead you were funneled into a line that went INSIDE so you could be temp checked before being allowed.... outside.

I hated that it forced people to stay home and that it hurt the finances and relationships of many, but the personal impact for myself and the wife was awesome. We got paid to stay home and WFH, we got tons of projects done around the house and enjoyed spending our lunches watching the neighborhood kids playing in the yards outside.

I lost a lot of respect for the medical community during that time. I remember being called a conspiracy theorists at the mere notion that Pharma was lying about the vaccine testing they were doing and shocker, turned out to be right. Yet every doctor I knew took every hook, line, and sinker with zero critical thought. Had a grandfather in assisted living during that time that was taking a turn for the worse and basically had no ability to see him in his final days with all the horseshite going on. Will probably never get over that completely.

The concept of the Nuremberg Code and medical ethics disappeared like a fart in the wind.

We suspended all concept of ethics during an 'emergency?'

People would rage hard if you even sniffed at the ethics of any of it.

Turns out that medical ethics were just words on paper like everything else.

At the end of the day you can be subjected to anything, no questions asked.

Covid was soft-genocide from day one. Killed a bunch of people for political end, and nobody will ever admit it.

During Covid I would wear scrubs to the grocery store and people would see me coming down the aisle and turn around and run from me. Felt like Moses parting the Red Sea.
