Excellent reply.

And let's be honest, there will always be s certain segment of the population that can easily be led around and told what to do. Hell, you can still see mask-wearers today , and I would wager my 401k that 95% of them lack any medical reason to do so.

There are multiple subreddits still very full of the true believers.

I asked someone wearing one a while back about it one time and why they continued to wear it. They sited all the initial reports and stuff form the beginning of it all, but refused to believe the reports from the exact same sources they used to convince themselves of wearing the mask, when those sources said they didn't need to wear it anymore. Really is a bizarre psyche.

Dumb Bel Edwards with his regular fear pressers with the inflated numbers used to scare people into submission.

And let's not forget New York just flat out lying about a child dying after getting it at school, so they could justify shutting their schools down and kicking off everything. Good times guys, good times.

I remember John Bel Edwards doing weekly pressers smacking and scolding us for moving around. He knew this because they were tracking everyone by their cell phones yet no one was questioning that. I still can't stand that chode.

Covid was a mental crucible.

Getting gaslighted by 80% of the population for 2-straight years took its toll.

Lost respect for a ton of people that bought into the hysteria. Once that happens you cant go back.

Now you supposed to trust somebody's professional advice on anything after that?

Sorry the toothpaste don't go back in the tube that easy.

Nobody will admit they were wrong about the shite. You just supposed to pretend like it didn't happen and move on.

It became bizarro world by April & May. I started wondering if all of the politicians and media believed what they were preaching. Like the crooked pastor ‘stealing in the name of the Lord.’

The intense bullying of any slight counter point was terrifying. Most reasonable voices were limited to small group texts between close friends.

Compare it to living in a live action episode of the Twilight Zone. 'The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street' where the people in the neighborhood go hysterical and start killing each other.

Even Lord of the Flies. You questioned any of it and your arse was Piggy.

Gone is the common belief that cops wouldn't enforce unlawful orders and wreck their own neighbors. Turns out people will do anything they are told to do to keep their job.

How many small businesses got wrecked by Covid never to return?

The restaurant industry particularly. Places in business for decades got wrecked, never to return. Gone with the wind.

Meanwhile fast food and door-dash soared.

Perfectly stated.

quote:

But the gross overreaction of shutting down society and permanently altering the way society functions in ways we still haven't fully comprehended was a byproduct of the world being more connected (via social media) than at any point in human history. The "we're all in this together" mantra became the mainstream way of thinking and ANYONE who dared express any hint of skepticism, criticism, questioning of that mindset was immediately ridiculed for daring to question the established mindset.

The part of all this that changed the game in my opinion was the shift in the typical narrative of “getting it” vs “spreading it.” Before this, if you didn’t want to catch something, you stayed home, got a vaccine, wore a mask, etc. The rest of the world went on about their business. Once that narrative changed to “the spread” it was game on. It gave all the powers that be the green light to shut stuff down, enforce mask mandates, coerce people to get the shot, tell people they were selfish etc.

“The mask won’t keep you from getting it, but it will keep you from spreading it.”

All for a virus with an overwhelming survival rate.

Looking back at it 6 years later, I can't believe that people tolerated the lockdowns

In all honesty, I don’t remember any lockdowns. There was never a point that I was prohibited from doing pretty much anything. I chose to limit a lot of things I did, but that was voluntary.

I would honestly do the same thing today given the same circumstances

There’s part of the lockdowns
I actually miss. No traffic and almost 0 face-to-face interactions and that social distancing thing wasn’t all bad either

I still see people occasionally wearing them on the chin... they have such low critical thinking skills they never knew what they were for..were told to wear them, were never told NOT to wear them anymore and just kept on trucking

The largest wealth transfer in human history. "Punks" and "anarchists" who wanted to rage against the machine suddenly becoming pro-machine. Leftists praising China for having a society that contains a virus. This should show everyone what the end result of collectivism is.

How much of the trajectory of peoples' lives was altered by the lie that was Covid?

Sick to think about.

How many people cooped up in the house all day slipped into alcohol / drug abuse?

Talked to a beer truck guy during covid and he said that every weekend was running close to 4th of July volume.

You could see it waking around the neighborhood. Trash cans and recycle bins stuffed with bottles like everyone just had a new year's party.

30% of people got on SSRIs or other psychotropics most because they were bored.

Cops reported a huge uptick in domestic violence calls because people stuck in the house with their family with no outlet.

The covidians got mad that people with boats were out enjoying their life and sicced the marine patrol on their arse and closed boat ramps.

People got harassed for fly fishing alone in the middle of a river.

They rented fences to close off basketball courts. And put trashbags over outdoor grills. Filled in skateparks with sand.

A bunch of sick and demonic bastards.

The entire hospitality industry got wrecked.

None of that is coming back.

Nothing even close to what it was in 2019.

All business are running skeleton crews with the absolute minimum staff.

Most employees in hospilatiy are clueless like it's their first day on the job.

High end places are semi-decent but no where near 2019. Food quality is still way down except for premium options. There is no mid or lower range anymore its all the same.

COVID was all about:

1. Causing chaos in Trump's term to impact re-election
2. Wealth transfer
3. Control

That's it. It was a massive, massive fraud on the planet. Democrats saw the opportunity to do it, and executed efficiently and severely. And yes, it was them. And yes, most democrats should feel pretty ashamed. The BLM riots being exempt from criticism should tell you everything you need to know.

But you know, keep voting for them. Great job guys.
