So is mine, but it's just a disguise to have less down time. It looks good right now only having to go in a couple days every pay period. Long term they're only going to let us work remote a couple days every period. With that, since we're all maintaining telework ready status, no more bad weather days, no more off for mardi gras, etc.. I am all for working during those times, but the way they're doing it is a bs lie. Maximizing employer benefit and minimizing employee benefit.

we're now back one day a week for "collaboration". Will go to two days a week next month.

My "collaboration" this week consisted of one 30 minute department meeting (that we've had on TEAMS for two years now). Nothing new or beneficial to being face to face. The remainder of the day I worked at my desk and never talked to another person but did text a guy on TEAMS------just like at home.

My commute took more time than the "collaboration"

I guarantee companies are going to lose quality employees

Oh the horror of having to get dressed and go into work.

But it is true that companies should think about what gives them the most bang for the buck. Smaller offices which serve primarily as a meeting space with remote workers who actually do their job (that is a key component).

For a company with a lot of client interaction, it is probably better to have an office environment.

Some employees do function better in an office setting due to household distractions. Not all of those employees have the self awareness to recognize this. Some also want the office setting for this reason and want a convenient excuse for a little separation from the family.

He said as he posted on the web. If you were as good as you think you are, you could negotiate what you want. You’re not.

Now be a good little worker bee and get back in your cubicle.

As a retiree, I'm all for working from home, if you're actually working from home.

There is no way in frick you're being productive sitting at the lake.

There should be a national effort to WFH. Would cut our nation’s oil needs significantly.

There is going to be a change in the way that many employees look at working, IMO. A priority will be placed on flexibility rather than other benefits that a company can offer for some.

It's been a priority for me for a while, even before COVID I considered taking a paycut in order to get the flexibility of working from home again. Luckily it didn't come to that.

I work a hybrid schedule. 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

I enjoy my job currently, and I'm still in my 20s so im young. But at some point in my careerpath, I'm going to switch to a job where I can work from home full-time.

I dont want to be 50 years old spending 1-2 hours of my life everyday sitting in traffic.

I’ve been working remotely for 3 yrs now. It’s nice but it gets old being at the house all day everyday. I would enjoy going back to an office for work.

Having an active social life outside of work is key to happiness while working from home. I've been doing it for 10 years, but I'm also very active outside of working hours (nights and weekends). I also go to lunch with friends on working days 1-2 times per month.

The company I work for has offices in various states and countries. The one I work out of was part of an acquisition and is in Atlanta. We had a meeting two days ago where the real estate guy from the main office ask, "Do we need to continue to pay for 2,500sq feet that no one is using?" He actually had a pretty big crowd for that meeting, but only because it was a free lunch. I've been there once in the past two years.

They will reduce to a much smaller space with hotel cubes/offices, a couple of small conference rooms and will rent hotel space for larger events as necessary. The commercial real estate industry is undergoing a lot of change.

There are some industries/positions where it makes sense. There are others where it actually is a better business decision to allow people to work wherever they are most productive.

The location where people work is up to the discretion of the employer. Just like all business decisions, some companies make good ones...come companies don't.

My company is weirdly strict about being at the office. The only time I have face-to-face conversation is when I'm traveling for work every other week. There's nothing at my office that I don't have at home - most of our company is in the next state over and 90% of the people in my office building are a whole different, unrelated, business segment. I'd probably get fired if I asked to work hybrid though.

I fully understand both sides of the argument. I’m at home today and it’s nice as an option, especially when I travel to Louisiana and can make it a week long stay and still work throughout. For ME though, the office environment helps me to be more satisfied with my workday. Plus, we have a lot of great looking women in our organization. Nice to socialize with them at the coffee pot. They don’t seem to congregate at my personal coffee pot like they do in the office break room.

This is what I'd prefer.

In office 2, sometimes 3 days a week, handle all the stupid meetings and phone calls that mostly serve to waste time, yada yada.

Let me stay home the rest of the time and just focus on my work. I'd get more accomplished on 1 day at home, without some a-hole knocking on my door any time they wanted, than I would in 3 days on site.

On the training side, it's been brutal getting new employees up and running, and we've noticed employees have even less want to stay and will leave at a moments notice. Personally I like the office, and enjoy being face to face with my team.
