re: Anyone had mono as an adult?
Posted by MonroeTigerstripes on 5/3/24 at 9:33 pm
Had it a year ago. Tons of mucous, worst congestion of my life, sore throat & swollen lymph node on my neck. It took weeks for my energy to come back and I lost about 10 lbs. Lymph node is still swollen to this day....

re: Fried fish in air fryer help
Posted by MonroeTigerstripes on 4/19/24 at 6:27 pm
Louisiana makes boxed air fryer mixes (fish, pork & chicken). We do this fairly often - it’s a quick and easy weeknight meal with no oil and minimal cleanup. Our local store always has the pork and chicken mixes. The fish batter is hit or miss, but we’ve used the air fryer chicken mix on freshly cau...

re: honest question…why do so many of you soak your yard with chemicals?
Posted by MonroeTigerstripes on 3/14/24 at 11:51 am
Look online.. there are different vinegar /blue dawn (and maybe one other thing) concoctions. I found the mixture ratios on Pinterest. We buy vinegar from Home Depot and usually put more than the mixture calls for. It has worked at killing our back yard weeds just as round up used to. I just prefer...
re: OT Veterinarian Help - Emergency or Can it Wait Until the Morning - Update pg. 3
Posted by MonroeTigerstripes on 3/4/24 at 8:52 pm
Sounds like what happens to my dog. Our vet told us the blood & mucous is just from gut inflammation when she gets an upset stomach. I took her to two different docs to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, and both agreed she just has a sensitive stomach. I had her on royal canine for a while which ...

I guess it depends on how much blood you are talking. (Not a vet, just have a dog with a sensitive stomach)
My dog gets blood tinged diarrhea at least once a week, sometimes she coughs up blood tinged mucous as well. She has an extremely sensitive stomach and if she gets even a crumb of somethin...
re: Quinoa recipes, healthy crap
Posted by MonroeTigerstripes on 2/24/24 at 6:31 pm
We do “Mexican quinoa bowls” often. Add drained corn, drained black beans, a can of green chilis, chopped cherry tomatoes, fresh cilantro, & raw red onion to a bowl. Season w/ salt and & pepper. Cook chicken (season w/ taco packet or those type of ingredients). Chop up chicken and add everything to ...

re: Do I just have to get over that my infant is going to put nasty stuff in her mouth?
Posted by MonroeTigerstripes on 1/26/24 at 12:44 pm
Unless you’re steaming the floors with only hot water, you’re doing more harm than good by letting her crawl around and lick chemicals you keep pouring on the ground when you mop every other day. Let the baby get the germs. She will be fine. Kids are gross so just prepare yourself now ...

re: Close relative is in hospice...(update page 5)

Best advice I’ve ever heard and will continue to give… “get in their boat and help them row.”
My grandma had dementia and was on hospice near the end. For the most part, she was fixated on her life as a young mom when one of her children died. But she had lucid moments where she talked to me ab...
