The X Safety team conducted an investigation into suspected Chinese inauthentic accounts involved in influence operations:

We identified a bot farm of approximately 200,000 accounts. Within this farm, we found 200 accounts posting in a manner that could manipulate a legitimate debate about American AI and energy policy.

These posts contained claims that AI data centers are driving up household electricity prices and straining the grid. Others included AI-generated cartoons that depicted data-center operators enriching themselves at the public's expense.

We remain committed to maintaining an open and authentic platform where people debate topics of public interest. We take seriously any attempts to undermine the integrity of the global town square and suspend accounts that violate our Authenticity policy.

Good thing nobody here is susceptible to Chinese propaganda

And we all know how impartial X would be on the subject of data centers.

What if data centers are inherently disliked by Americans without influence, and this is an American oligarch reverse psyop intended to make some of us think that the only reason we don't like data centers is because of Chinese bot farms?

Avoid the issue, blame X

Definitely don’t blame China & consider why they’re doing it

Republicans are searching for a reason to be pro data centers. It's interesting to watch.

So, were the 200 accounts deleted? How about the rest of the remaining 199,800 bots?

Which of these two options seems more likely to be true:

1) X is making all of this up because they need and want data centers for their operations

2) China is actually doing shady shite that's completely in line with countiess other examples of things they've done to destabilize and influence our populace?

Lolz, what a completely BS angle. People dont like data centers for their own reasons, not Chinese bot farms.

Yes, because letting China "own" AI would be so great for our country long term

Clearly they've got you on their side.

Both can be true. The issue with data centers is not China, it's anti-human tech nutjobs trying to find another region of America to rape and pillage.

My main issue with the data centers is the hum.

I’ve heard there is a constant low level hum that can be heard by neighbors.

That’s enough for me to say put them way way way away from anyone.

How they cool them is their own issue.

So you're fine with letting China own AI? And you fully understand the repercussions of that?

Methinks not. Or if you do, that makes your position even more retarded.

And nice job with the not so subtle "capitalism is evil" nod.

Show me where China had the chips and hardware to scale their AI. This whole thing is a complete deception to install a total surveillance state thats going to be a total dystopia.

Aside from that, if China is so bad then why are our tech lords literally COPYING their surveillance state apparatus? Why do they want to install the same exact social credit score system?

Conflating anti-data center sentiment with anti-tech is just bad faith.

Understanding the predatory nature of the data centers and the predatory nature of those who will control the data is where the pushback comes from.
