Many more chains could do this if they weren't raped, stripped, and raided by Private Equity. Chili's parent company is actually a restaurant company trying to succeed, not a bloodsucking entity that leaves nothing but ashes in its wake as the "owners" make off like bandits.
You are exactly right. I worked at a brand that was under the Brinker umbrella for years. We were doing pretty well, but Chilis was struggling after housing market crash in ‘08. They had to sell us. Went to a private equity that completely destroyed us and sold us within 4 years. They made out like bandits and now that brand is closing restaurant everywhere they can get out of leases now. Really sad to be part of.

Do they still have their skillet queso? That used to be the bomb.

I love Chilis, it’s one of the few sit down chains I enjoy.

How often do you visit a Chili’s?
20 years ago, we use to go to Chili’s for lunch all the time. Their chicken crispers were amazing. Then they changed the remand ruined them.
I think I may have been to Chili’s two or three times in the past five years. And I think it’s been at least a year or more since I’ve been.

Went the other day, it was suprisingly pretty good. Got the barbecue platter with ribs, sausage and brisket quesadillas. Skillet queso for an app was good. Had me and 4 teenagers and the bill was barely over 100. Can’t complain in Biden’s economy.

They vary greatly from location to location.

Just for the record, they didn’t change the crispers, they eliminated the original ones. They were only 20% of all crisper sales.
Sales are through the roof, chilis has got a lot of concepts chasing them. Targeting and actually impacting McDonalds was genius,
That CEOi is phenomenal .

Stopped in and got a 3 for me on my way home from a buisness trip... really enjoyed the food, stop at their bar and not far from the price of driving through

Chilis line cook veteran of 4 years. Prime Chilis era 1989-1993. Worked hard 30 hours a week to bring your parents and some of you as little toddlers the delicious menu items America loved. Was there when Brinker bought the franchise and worked feverishly like a worker ant when we closed shop for a week to totally redo the floor and the kitchen to Brinkers spec so that we could enhance the Chilis experience. Was there when the onion blossom (o-blo on the server tickets) rolled out to the appreciative masses. The only criticism I ever had was that our menu required way to much morning prep and the prep crew that got there at 8:00am was pushed to the limit to be ready by 11:00am open. But we did it for Americans who loved us and were fans of our work.

I've been craving some southwest eggrolls lately

Of all the major, casual dining chains,
Chili’s has always been my favorite. The burgers are good. The tex-mex is pretty good.
Unless I run a mid-sized paper company I’m not going to take a client there to impress them. But I don’t complain if Chili’s is the fall back when no one can reach a consensus on a restaurant choice

It's really about fast food. Fast food has gotten really expensive, making a Chilis a very economical upgrade.

This is true. A much better option for a little more money

Cannot say I have been to one recently - not because I wouldn't but don't live near one - but I see the commericals and the buger, plus chips and salsa, and drink for $10 is pretty dang impressive. Burger fast food inflation is wild and sit down restaurants are now equal in price. I don't think you can order a Wendy's combo for under $10 now...and I mean a single patty burger with a regular sized fries and drink.
