You can get a decent lunch there for the same price as a Big Mac Meal. They want you to come in and buy their sale lunches and hopefully also buy a higher margin app or a drink.

Not saying Chili’s is amazing food, but it’s a big upgrade over McDonald’s for not much more. Simplifying the menu, closing down underperforming stores, and investing in their stalwart locations was a smart move.

And fast food like McDonalds is more exposed to the current downturn because it hurts the lower income more. Wendy’s, Taco Bell, KFC, and McDonalds are probably being more conservative with expansion plans because of the last couple of years.

Was surprised the one by North Mall Drive in BR closed. Always seemed busy.

I didn’t notice there was a chilis there until after it closed.

I think they decided to consolidate it into the higher performing one on College.

I would have said the same thing in Baton Rouge. Where I live now is very different.

I’ve always liked Chillis. Their burgers are great as well as their Cajun pasta.

Chili's was originally supposed to be TexMex. I haven't been in many years.

I used to like some of their appetizers. Their Southwestern Egg rolls and their queso were both pretty good.

Had chicken crisper and ribs combo. They absolute screwed up the old chicken strip recipe with the breading, but it was still fine with the sauce. And the ribs were really good actually. It’ll probably be 6-8 weeks (not years) till next order.

Their chicken crispers used to use a wet batter, so the flavor and consistency were unique and different (and better)

They now use a dry batter, so the tenders are no different from chicken tenders you can get anywhere else.

Agree.

I have a food and drink themed Christmas tree, and I got this ornament for it.

I haven’t been to a chilis since I was working in Pleasanton and used to take my hands there because they needed a place that would let them smoke inside.

Stopped at a Chili's with 3 buddies coming home from a golf trip in Bartlesville, OK last fall.

Appetizers were fire. Was impressed.

The Chili's near my house has been meh since pre-Covid. Their service is terrible! Hopefully Chili's as a franchise is able to turn things around. I read recently that Chili's being more aggressive on lowering prices has put a pinch on McDonald's.
