She had zero sales? No wonder she got fired.
This. I don't doubt that she was putting in work, perhaps feeling like she is working harder than others but in sales it simply boils down to how much you bring in sales. Not everyone is suited for sales. Her manager should have been giving her realistic feedback of her performance (closed sales) and not just acknowledgement of her work.

Not sure if it’s been discussed or not but why was she filming herself on this call in the first place? Did she expect to be fired and wanted it on record? Was it for likes on social media (my assumption)?

People film everything these days. A car was parked outside my house for 30 minutes just chilling so I walked up to see what was going on, and the person inside was filming me. Screamed your on film don't do anything... You're the one parked in front of my house. Apparently she is waiting for her kids at the bus stop, but filming gives people this weird sense of control over situations.

It said in the article that they were scheduling 15 minute meeting blocks where other coworkers were being let go. She had 10 minute warning she was probably one of them.

She did a good job standing up for herself, instead of shutting down, she just fired off a ton of questions.
She said she was shocked, but prior said that several peers had been fired or were very "frustrated". So she knew it was coming, - she recorded the zoom from her phone, who does that?.
sounds like the company is in financial trouble and they're letting people go.

She said that she and a bunch of her coworkers got a calendar invites for 15 minute meetings so they were able to put it together.
The no sales part is clearly a big thing but if she got no indication that her performance was inadequate from her manager, then that is really shitty.
Taking her story at face value here though. Both things can be true here: she’s embellishing things for victim status/likes/clicks and Cloudfare is a soulless corporate wasteland that gives zero fricks about people.

I've seen many videos of clones of her doing "Day in the life of a (bullshite job) for (some overrated tech company)"
I have a suspicion that she may not have been the hardest worker.
Gen Z want to be social media influencers above all else.
They look down on blue collar jobs or any job that isn't front and center to be filmed.

I don't. Do you not have the ability to empathize and relate to other people's suffering?
I don’t work for a MegaCorp either. I can empathize and do relate, and I would have felt sorry for her, but she acted horrible. Can you not see what she did was unreasaonable and makes her look foolish? Like she is the first person to ever be fired by a MegaCorp? She just gave them reason to blast the real reason she got fired…never closed a deal, didn’t go into the office, etc etc.

See above as well.

Woof. You made good progress but fell back to sucking off the suits.
Didn’t suck off the suits. They made their lives and got into a position to make tens of millions running a company. Good for them. Nothing wrong with it, just cause you don’t like it.

I generally agree. However, if enough people put these shitty companies on blast things may start to change.
It won’t change anything. MegaCorps have been around a long time and for good reason. Blasting them won’t hurt anything in the IT space when they have a market leading offering. CISO at FedEx doesn’t give 2 shita about how Brittany got fired or that she blasted her prior employer. He cares about securing his environment.
Also, you have any clue how she really behaved at work? Any idea about her REAL relationship with her manager? Maybe she never called in, ignored meetings with him, and didn’t have SFDC up to date. Maybe he didn’t give a shite about that employee and felt like never seeing her again cause she took advantage of the company….you ever empathize with an employer that paid out all that money to someone that didn’t generate Jack shite? Also, the company lost 6+ months of not having a producer in the role, imagine the revenue lost there too.

Employee probably “demands” work remote. Gets upset when fired remotely.
It’s a sales job. She even indicated she closed no deals. Understand it’s a short window, but clearly they over hired and now letting her go.
Welcome to the corporate world!

Exactly!! Its a right to work State too. She woulda had no problem taking a higher paying job without saying anything to her boss prior to leaving too. She needs to change her attitude

At one time I had a group of 4 direct reports. I had 3 peers who each had 4 direct reports. So, our groups had a combined 16 reporting employees servicing 4 regions of the US. Our director asked us to rate our groups of 4 from 1-4. Then rate them in total 1-16. My 4 were in the consensus top 8.
Our director said we each needed to lose 1 person and threw the consensus 16 data out. So, my group had to take a loss even though my people were in the top 50%. It pissed me off since one peer had consensus 15 and 16 and should had lost those 2 people.
Essentially it was a straight line 25% cut across the board just to reduce headcount. Grrrrrrr…..

She got fired over a Zoom meeting….. Holy shite, what a coward thing to do.
frick that…if all you Gen Z’ers refuse to come work in office and demand working remotely then you better be ok with getting fired remotely when you are underperforming your job.

FYI - you can say overhired, but they have a lot of job postings right now on IT recruiting sites that were posted in the last week...Sales is always over hired, cause of numbers. People like Brittany who don't cut it are gone. Its simple in Sales. Have activity, build a defensible, realistic pipeline, work towards closing and close deals. Cloudflare is right here...they have over 1500 sales people across the country and let go the bottom 3%. That's actually less than should be expected heading into a new year.
Also, we dont have information about her true work ethic, her territory, her renewal rate, etc etc. Maybe she walked into a 4M pipeline for Q4 and couldn't close the deals and secure renewals. She closed ZERO deals...thats tough to do for a megacorp in Q4

I worked for a fortune 100 company one time where a plant manager was fired at a Denny’s. He was called to the corporate office and flew in. Went to the hotel for the meeting the next day. Early that morning the VP called him and said “let’s have breakfast at Dennys before the meeting. When he got there, his boss fired him. In the company, the standing grave yard humor was if you were invited to corporate for a big meeting and asked by your boss to meet at Denny’s for breakfast you were DOA.

Sounds like what is happening to some non woke, non COVID vaccinated employees who have unfortunately gotten employed by some super liberal, woke company.

Why is this even a story? If this chick got a better job she would’ve ghosted this company without a second thought.
It’s a two-way street.
She’s obviously too soft to be in sales.
