We are finding out in this thread who knows how pensions work and who doesn’t. Nothing overly nefarious going on here. All benefits will be covered.
Now, will the state blow this $$ on something else? Likely, but if the use it positively, it’s an overall win.

It’s for retirees so no one is accruing additional benefits and no one will lose any benefits, right? I don’t think this is overly concerning.
Now, if it was a plan actively accruing benefits, you’d have a story. All of those in this particular plan will be made whole and either get their monthly annuity from another annuity provider or get a lump sum.

Should have lost to a really bad MSU team at home. Same Iowa team you always get. Beat the mid to below average teams, lose to the “better” teams. Only difference is thst they haven’t pulled the Kinnick upset recently.
It’s time to have no preaseason rankings and let more from the other conferences in. Clearly they can compete and it’s a travesty that the $$ has talked and muted the on field performance.

Player vote. Half team will be in Happy Valley with most if not all of the assistants. Other half of team will be in portal. Great for the top 20-30 teams(the current environment) but for the rest, not so much.
Schools like Iowa state will have choices to make around the other sports. If PSU has dedicated $25 million for NIL on top of the $21 million payroll, how many other schools can compete with thst?

Yep, Penn Stste is going to fall into the best candidate although I wouldn’t assume he’ll go. So much better than Rhule and most of the other candidates and he’s high character, which should matter at Penn state

If you are in this situation, you need to shop the deals. It shouldn’t be “get whatever you want”. Every week there are deals that would feed a family very well.

Absolutely! Beating Villanova, FIU and Nevada should put you in the top 10 and in the playoff discussion! And those teams might be better than their next 2 conference opponents.

It’s the cities. Anyone with any means hits the burbs and removes themselves from problems like this. I live just north of DM. Would never send my kids to DM metro schools, just too many problems that are solved with a half assed vetting process to satisfy those left.
