She got fired over a Zoom meeting….. Holy shite, what a coward thing to do. If you’re going to fire someone, at least have the balls to do it to their face
Cloudflare is a tech company, highly likely they are fully remote work

Poor Snowflake
In 2008 I was in the waiting room waiting for my mom to get out of open heart surgery when I received an email from HR stating, we needed to schedule a meeting to discuss my separation package. Yes - it was on a Blackberry
I called in and found out 400 of us were shite canned.
And I had a mortgage, two year old son, wife, two car notes etc etc
I'm sure she will survive

When are the HR drones getting their pink slips?
Oh that's right they do all the dirty work for the cowardly suits who don't have the balls to tell people to their face that they are being laid off.
Why are their so many MegaCorp simps in this thread?
ETA: The same MegaCorps that demand you work more and more hours so they give large dividends to the shareholders but can't find any money to give workers raises.

I bet they will have pizza or donuts in the breakroom on Friday to reward the “rockstars” who didn’t get fired.

Corporate speak is so disgusting. Glad I’m out of that shite

Who hired her? Was it HR? When I was employed by mega corps that's how I was hired. Never directly spoke with my supervisor prior to being hired. If hired by HR being fired/laid off by them seems like business as usual. Don't be a victim. Get over it and move on.

She will rebound. She seems like a very bright and talented individual. She knows how to record people on a camera so perhaps her new role could be in Hollywood

Years ago I had just bought my first home. Was with a company 2 years and thought all was good. Let go on an early December day. Boss knew I was purchasing a home months earlier. F corp culture!

I don't necessarily having a problem when her getting fired if she hasn't closed a sale and those were the expectations.
But there should have been clear communication that she was in some kind of jeopardy instead of being blindsided by being fired.
Using performance is probably a way to try and avoid a whole bunch of unemployment benefits but without a paper trail she'd have a good case. Sounds like the over hired and are cleaning up the mess after the holiday.

I am an account executive in the industry and connected to many people at Cloudflare. She also posted on Linkedin blowing up the company and other people at the company, then basically begged for a new job.
She just made herself unhirable IMO, especially after her dismal sales numbers.

The CEO runs a chickenshit outfit.
Every time I've ever had to let someone go, they know it's coming. There have been conversations, reviews, documents, metrics, etc. And I'm the guy who calls (also fully virtual), with HR riding shotgun. After I explain that we have to let them go, HR walks through next steps. HR and I meet to walk through the game plan before I call, so we're in lockstep. But most importantly, the employee being fired is not caught unaware or by surprise.
The fact that this girl has not received a word of "get your shite together, or hit the bricks" before this is 100% management's fault.
She was wrong to record it, but Cloudflare looks awful in this case.

This may be true. However, she makes good points about how spineless and cowardly MegaCorps are.
The managers and suits do not have the balls to tell the people to their face.
These drones just read the same bullshite script over and over all day.
It is funny how the suits always get their giant severances and golden parachutes when they frick up but the little work bees continuously get fricked over and over again.
We are about to go through #3 or 4 "OnCe In A lIfEtImE CrIsIs" as millennials.
You alienate enough people and leave them destitute and not supporting the institutions and systems and you have a recipe for frickin disaster.
Keep simping, IT_Dawg, and enjoy the pizza party on Friday.
ETA: Not to hijack the thread but illustrates my point.

I have a motto - never burn a bridge bc you don't know who your next boss may be.
granted - that can apply to all fields and even self employed if you change the word from boss to customer etc..
but that's what I meant by her playing the victim card. too much whining and not enough pulling herself up by the bootstraps and failing to learn a life lesson by being knocked down.
not everything has to be documented on the tiktok or the twitter ffs.

Don't worry about me, champ. I am confident that I am wealthier than you are.
I do very well for myself. I love seeing people call out spineless MegaCorps for the bullshite they pull.
Keep simping though. I'm sure the pizza will be hot and fresh on Friday.

One of my ex’s dad was laid off at the airport, I asked him why the airport, he said because it’s hard to get a gun in
Walk me through this bc I don’t get it. Wouldn’t people catch on if the company scheduled meetings at the airport just to fire people? Or was he the only one?
And it’s not hard to get a gun into the airport. Through security checkpoints is the hard part. Were they scheduling meetings through security for everyone they wanted to let go? Seems really impractical.
And who brings a weapon to a business meeting? Isn’t the threat later that day or next few days? Are these people just hanging out in airports for a week after the “meeting”?
