Also sounds like a pretty poor time to do it if he has just lost his partner.
The partner passed in September 2023, so the parent went digging, or had been sitting on the info until they could use it against the school.
A lot of these Catholic schools turn a blind eye on the morality clauses, until a parent complains, and employees know that the morality clause is there and that there is always a risk of it being used against them.

I read this article and skimmed the thread so if I missed anything I appologise. Here is what I personally think the crux of the arguement:
It's my understanding in my personal reading of the bible is that being Gay in and of itself is not a sin. The sin is sexual realtions between two people that are not married as husband and wife. Lots of everyday folks are guilty of that one. So if his former husband has been dead for two years, and he's not currently in a relationship then how could he violate the morality code?

To answer that question, I think we really need to read the contract clause that he signed. That being said, It doesn’t appear that he is challenging his dismissal in the legal system so…

Ah right! I forgot God Almighty recently stepped down and let Free888 decide morality and right/wrong. Carry on
Well he did write a book about it a few centuries ago, and that book does tell us all what is morally right and wrong by his standards. Oh, and, the Catholic Church along with their schools tend to follow these rules and standards.

St Francis has had a leadership problem the last several years. I know of 4 families that have pulled their kids out of the school for different reasons.

That’s my point. The fact that he is taking this to the court of public opinion is all you really need to know; however, if the school “knew” for awhile and did nothing then that is a bad look on them too.

The parents care about their child seeing that lifestyle being made acceptable, so they have every right to raise a concern in hopes of something getting done. Good on the parents for "dropping the dime". They did their job.
Except for the fact that the parent in question had an axe to grind that had nothing to do with the teacher being gay, you’re absolutely right.

the contract still specifically outlines that any engagement “in homosexual activity” violates the morality clause
Has he thought about just not being gay???

Same though the main reason from my experience is the families did not like how the school treated/educated the boys.

Homosexuality is a sin. Period.
Pre-marital sex is a sin also. Did you, or do you engage in that? Why is homosexuality judged more harshly?
No sin is greater than the other as all sins are equally damming.

Yes, I am aware of that. I am not claiming it was illegal. Only that it was very Christian like.
I'd say it was like something else, but this guy didn't get thrown off a roof.

FWIW, straight teachers have been let go for violating the morality clause as well for reasons you mentioned above.

Lol, I started to respond but not worth my time. Think about how are life long gay man and premarital sex may be different. Give it a think.

Don't forget any kind of contraception. Birth control pills for women, vasectomies, condoms, and having sex knowing there's no chance to have another child naturally.

Seems like he had been there a long time and everyone at the school knew he was gay. Suddenly became a big issue because of a parent finding out.

Hahahahah! How does moving pedo priests from parish to parish follow rules and standards? Y’all are such hypocrites that it is pure comedy!
