re: Cardell Hayes attorney requests NOPD not handle investigation

To me it means he is worried about the crime scene being tampered with or falsified. Which is probably why he is pushing for LSP or someone else to step in and take the investigation over from the NOPD. If anything, he is probably trying to stop any evidence that may help Hayes from being altered or disappearing.

So the first person to shoot is wife, then you put 8 in the back of will. Sounds like will went for gun when hayes made threat or when his wife was shot.
but this just sounds plausible to me. where was shirtless maniac guy. Wife said she thought was diffused? she said hayes followed them, did he not want to calm down, did him following make will seem like a threat was posed? Was PT the one who helped remove shirtless guy from situation?
remember that sparks buddy who is supposedly a witness said that wills wife went for the gun first.

This is one of the stranger parts of this story.

Hmm...maybe Hayes shot wife because she went/had the gun then from being shot she dropped the gun and that made Smith go after the gun and as he did Hayes shot.

I learn something new every day, almost all of my dealings with Orleans have come after the bill has been filed.

Unless he truly believes that NOPD will do *something* to the evidence so he wants the public to believe/hear about statements or evidence (videos, etc.) before NOPD makes them disappear.
They might have "the first 48" cameras watching their every move.

It's surprisingly easy to meet with him. If you pick up a case on the front end and don't think the screener is giving whatever mitigating evidence you have fair weight, he will absolutely meet you and hear what you have to say. On a case like this, Fuller wouldn't have any issue.

Have you heard of shirtless guy through your sources?
Can you confirm shirtless guy is NOT PT?

I have heard about it as much as anyone, but nothing from the police or anyone credible.
Only thing I'm personally confident of is that Hayes actually believes he was acting in self defense.

I'm thinking wife grabbed gun, Hayes shot her. Smith reacts by going for gun in some way and Hayes shoots him.

Key word being believes since you've heard rumblings from Impala driver's story?

Will be interesting to see how many sets of prints are on the gun in Smith's car since it supposedly wasn't removed from where it was in the vehicle. If wife's and Smith's prints are on the gun, then it could lend some credibility to what you are saying.

NOPD wiped it down before they put it back in the center console.

No, first hand on that. He does believe that what he did was in self defense. No idea if he's right or wrong on that.

both would have reason to have prints there. short of bloody prints, itll take witness statements to put the gun outside the car at this point (if it ever even left the car)

The crazy shirtless man is starting to remind me of the one armed man in The Fugitive.

With all people on scene why can't passengers of Benz be identified. Bizarre
Posted on 4/16/16 at 3:09 am to Chad504boy
The press may not know, but NOPD may.

Would the possibility of Ceravolo being a former cop - being a close friend of Smith's - being at the crime scene and IF Ceravolo is on video being inside the crime scene tape a valid reason the request the scene or investigation is tainted?
