Can someone explain the Texas/Oklahoma rivalry? Not sports

Okay, so I’ve heard that people from Texas dislike people from Oklahoma and people from Oklahoma feel likewise. Can the OT baws from both states explain why this rivalry exists? When did it start? What are some of the causes of this?

Pretty much everyone around here that was raised in Oklahoma claims to hate everything about Texas, except the Cowboys. They're all Cowboy fans.
I'm not from here so I don't care. I just don't want them buying anymore property here in Oklahoma. Stay on your side of the Red.

In the movie Stalag 17, about American airmen in a German POW camp, there's a scene where they're all standing around listening to the morning announcements by the ranking POW. "All men from Texas are to meet by the water tank at 1100 hours" to a chorus of boos by everyone else.

Some won't agree but it has to be a sports thing. I promise you, no one in NETx spends a second thinking about an Okie unless you're playing them. Texans spend ungodly amounts of money in OK from the casinos to Beavers Bend. Arkansans as well.
