Okay, so I’ve heard that people from Texas dislike people from Oklahoma and people from Oklahoma feel likewise. Can the OT baws from both states explain why this rivalry exists? When did it start? What are some of the causes of

Quite possibly your worst baited hook. Just skip checking the trot line and drink beer.

Little brother syndrome for Oklahomans. The pleasure of looking down their nose at backwoods hillbillies for Texans.

I’ve lived in both OK and LA, and have spent a ton of time in TX. Love all 3 for different reasons and different times of my life - just wish the Californians would stay the frick out of this corner of the world.

That's a North Texas/Metroplex thing. The rest of the state doesn't talk about Oklahoma much unless it's sports.

I’m from Louisiana and I hate everything Texas…it’s just something you’re born with.

I hate UT & TA&M, but like the Astros so I don't really not like Texas. Mississippi on the other hand. frick that state.

Over the summer, it was the week of the college world series. I was at the Hard Rock hotel in Biloxi and I had a LSU hat on. One morning I got in a conversation with some old man about college baseball an in the middle of the conversation he says "I'll tell you right now. I hate LSU. I am a Southern Miss fan, but I wouldn't pull for LSU no matter what". I just shook my head, I didn't know how to respond.

Then I went to Oxford once and for some reason that made me hate Mississippi. Arkansas I have no problem with.

Oklahoma is America’s welfare state. The government literally gave away land to any degenerate who asked like they were giving out government cheese.

It does. It’s pure sports. I’m an A&M and I hate Oklahoma as much as Texas most days.

They’re a conservative state with pretty low crime, similar values, and a highly rural population. their 2 big cities are actually pretty nice. I don’t WANT to move to Tulsa or OKC, but I wouldn’t be that angry if I had to.

Broken Bow/Hochatown is a great area.

The older I get, I align more with beliefs than sports. 10 years ago I would have never said if. PERIOD.

I understand Austin is a cesspool, but my late late mom raised me a Texas fan.

I can sum up what most okies I know think
(1) We are full, don’t move here
(2) We like how things are here
(3) We don’t care what you may think of us

I like Oklahoma. It's not the most scenic of places, but the people are good people. Culturally, Okie State is pretty similar to A&M (or used to be at least, modern A&M is pretty weak). And OU hates the Horns as much as I do. So I can't find much to dislike about any of them. Plus they make such a nice geographical hat for Texas.

I’m from Oklahoma but have lots of family in Texas. My dad is from Texas, my mom lives there now, my Grandma wore burnt orange at the RRS in the Cotton Bowl while sitting on the OU side.

There are a lot of similarities between the two states, and a lot of differences. Texas has more money, but they have lost some of their identity because so many people moved there from other parts of the country/world.

I had a friend who is not from the USA visit Oklahoma once. He had some family living in Texas and had spent quite a bit of time there. After being in Oklahoma for a weekend he said, “Oklahoma is how I always imagined Texas based on watching movies.”

Anyway, plenty of families are split across the Red River, so lots of shared culture, values, and traditions. Red Dirt and Texas Country have different sounds, but they are pretty damn similar at the end of day.
