Notice how the wife wasn't all pissy about it, just business like?
We both gathered that this was common behavior and yet it's in wife's best interest to stay married. Sounded very Tony Soprano-ish to us.
I do know this happened and it was recent and fricking funny.

My dad told me he went to ULL back when it was called University Of Southwestern Louisiana with Carlos Marcelo’s daughter and his fraternity, KA, had some kind of social gathering with her sorority. Dad said she received a ton of respect and she had a goon driving her around.

You are talking about Anthony Tusa. A friend of mine used to be married to his daughter. He used to own Anthony's in the Riverwalk and The Crazy Lobster. Him and his brother Victor went to jail for awhile over the video poker scam. I know little Vic, Victor's son too. Cool guy.

And do you know why? It wasn't because of mob connections. It was because those guys get a gigantic bonus/split the loot every year. Like fricking clockwork. They make a lot of money, but the income stream is uneven. So they need a little cash influx to keep up with their monthly expenditures as the year progresses. When the bonus rolls in, they pay off the loan and in a few months go back for another to get them and their lifestyle through another yearend.
No "mob" involved. Poor cash management and living slightly beyond their substantial means is the culprit. That guy probably got his loan approved in 2 minutes because it was the tenth year in the row he asked for one (and paid it back) and he has a shitload of non-liquid assets on his personal financial statement.
