Is it you or your boyfriend who does the lawn?

Meanwhile India, China, and all of East Asia (sans Japan) are riding 3-deep on 2 stroke scooters belching carbon.

That was 16 years ago, you think nothing has changed in battery technology since then?

No, it hasn't. They package the cells to get higher voltages and more current flow but the baseline technology hasn't improved in 20 years.

I use battery powered equipment except for the lawn mower. Much easier to use and works fine.

Keep it up California. You’re losing business left and right as is.
Yeah and that’s causing these policies to be exported to the other states.

Lithium ion batteries of today have greater capacity vs physical size, can charge faster, are cap limits g of more charge discharge cycles and are light years more advanced than the nicads used in tools 20 years ago.

Don't they already have electricity supply problems? Wouldn't this increase electricity demand?

No, you are clueless. Let's take Tesla's battery that was breathlessly hyped as delivering 50% more capacity than a standard 18650. Missing in all the hype is that the Tesla cell is 46% larger, 10+ years of intensive development for a whole 4% increase in energy density. That's it, lithium ion cells of today are not significantly better than they were 10, 15, 20 years ago, what's better are the algorithms that drive charging and discharging. Faster charging, more charging cycles...nothing to do with the batteries themselves and 100% from the improvements in programming the microcontrollers that run the chargers and tools the batteries are used in.

This is very stupid.

That said, I do hate leaf blowers, which are for lazy gardeners and blow dust all over everyone's houses and cars. I'm cool with banning them entirely, at least in neighborhood settings.

Tree huggers pretend that "clean" energy pops up out of the earth like mushrooms! They deny that lithium comes from strip mines and that excavators, trucks, smelters, etc., are required to convert the ore to a usable state. They also pretend that windmills do not require factories, transmission lines, etc.
Tree huggers do not walk anywhere and if they were sincere would not use any petroleum products in any form.

An hour of exhaust from a lawn mower is equivalent to driving an F150 for a full tank of gas. Backpack blowers are much worse. I’m all about switching to electric lawn and garden equipment. Plus you don’t smell like fumes while you enjoy a cold one after yard work.

If you can do all your yard work with an electric mower or blower, you aren’t doing enough yard work to deserve a cold one.
Keep your shitty ideas that only benefit urban dwellers with shitty little yards to yourself. I won’t stop you from using battery power. Just don’t demand I use it too, cause it’s not practical.

I don’t care about carbon emissions, what happens to the batteries, will never own a electric vehicle, but battery lawn tools are fantastic. Low noise, don’t have to wear ear protection, start every time, don’t have to buy gas, and mix fuel, I will never go back to gas.

I don't have to wear ear protection either, my gas riding lawn mower starts when i turn the key, my gas weed eater and blower start on the 3rd pull every time (even after not being used all winter), and i get gas once a year.

I got no problems with battery powered lawn equipment, but gas powered equipment will always be more powerful.
I just got a battery powered pole saw and hedge trimmer. They are ok for small stuff, and that's just what i wanted it for. The pole saw said the battery would last for 25-30 cuts, but i've used it twice now and i can barely get past 10 cuts before it's done. Fortunately I have 3 batteries.

California refugees flee that shithole and then vote for the exact same policies that caused them to flee to begin with. frick that. Let them all stay their and wallow in their own shite.
